I think it must be a blessed way to die. There is honor especially in the death of a martyr. I try to remember that and balance it with the (human) thoughts of being grieved by what happens in the world.

I think the sadness is more for the ones who are left alive and have seen these things happen. I put myself in the position of one who has to watch their family members be killed. That would be horrific.

But in the eyes of God, I know the martyrs are blessed.

Not a "nice" way to die. certainly, but definitely blessed.

I read a story through Google Translate. The translation wasn't perfect, but what I read suggested that this priest died from a bomb blast, and dies praying for others.

That sounds truly blessed to me.

The story I found said an artillery shell hit his house as he was approaching it and shrapnel hit his arm. He bled to death as he prayed for the others and some said there were shells blowing up in the air before they hit the ground and no one else was hurt.
