Something bizarre is happening in the U.S. right now. Within the last 10 years really. Accelerating at a troubling pace.
The issue thats brought my thoughts to the fore is the issue of homosexual marriage. Now, let me preface this by saving, on a personal level I get along great with homosexuals. I wish them no ill will nor do I hate them. I have close family members who is a homosexual and a friend who actually invited me to his wedding last month.
When I was younger, the idea of homosexual marriage was unthinkable not to mention unheard of. The homosexual lobbies weren't even calling for it. The most that they wanted was benefits at jobs for partners.
There's always been an undercurrent of disapproval amongst most people I've come across of homosexual activity. In fact, the line you always heard was, "What they do behind closed doors is their own business."Of course, that line is useless as the flaunting of said activities is becoming more and more public.
Anyway, in the early 2000's it felt like things were starting to change. I suspect the change was generational. As immoral a generation as the baby boomers were, their offspring, my generation, is probably worse than them. Then came along the millennials and as they've come of age I've noticed the walls completely falling down in every respect! It's like they either completely gave up or were indifferent not only in this arena, but in all types of issues including legalization of drugs.
Anyway, all of this seems to have accelerated even more in the last 5 years. I'm struggling to make sense of any of this, as none of it makes any sense to me. Maybe the seeds planted at the beginning of the sexual revolution have come to fruition? Perhaps the darkness has become darker and the light will shine all the brighter?
Anyone get what I'm saying? I'm not even sure how to express all these depressed thoughts that I have concerning our sick society than how I just did. I'm just really frustrated and confused.
