Now that Mr. Zimmerman has been found not guilty, he should pursue a case in federal court against the Martins for their son's actions violating Zimmerman's civil rights.

It is established fact that prior to Martin's assault upon Mr. Zimmerman, Martin used racial and hateful language directed at Mr. Zimmerman. This provides a sound basis for a claim against the Martin's, financially responsible for their minor child's acts, proving a racial motivation against Mr. Zimmerman.

Any objections? If the roles were reversed, as was falsely reported by CNN and MSNBC, et. al.,
Guilty Until Proven Innocent: How the Press Prosecuted Zimmerman While Stoking Racial Tensions, whereby Mr. Zimmerman was accused of using racial language, everyone would expect a federal, civil prosecution of Zimmerman.

What's good for the goose......

I don't think Zimmerman should sue the Martin family, nor do I think you'd be able to pay him to do it.

While Zimmerman has quite a list of people he could legitimately sue over all of this (starting with the Prosecutor (whom is probably going to be sued by that IT guy), I don't think the Martin family is on the list.

I wouldn't blame George Zimmerman if he did so. After all, the Martin family settled with the housing board where Trayvon was killed after trying to kill Zimmerman, for over 1 million dollars.
So in essence, as the verdict proves, the Martin family became instant millionaires when their son tried and failed to kill a man he didn't know was armed.

Had Zimmerman been unarmed we'd most likely have forgotten all these 15 months or so later about that headline reporting a man in Sanford Florida area was found dead on a rainy night after witnesses heard screams for help. And now the case is cold with no suspects in the foreseeable future.

It appears that George Zimmerman will have little choice other than to counter-sue ... that seems to be the most effective remedy against unwarranted civil suits.

The NAACP has today already garnered 400,000 signatures on a petition for the DOJ to file "civil" charges against George Zimmerman.

Nearly 400K sign NAACP petition calling for DOJ investigation into Trayvon Martin shooting
The petition, created by NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous, and addressed to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, calls for the DOJ to file "civil rights charges against Mr. Zimmerman for this egregious violation."
And they have an ally in Harry Reid: Reid on Zimmerman: 'This Isn't Over With'
On Sunday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) asked for the Justice Department to prosecute George Zimmerman, who was acquitted Saturday night in the killing of Trayvon Martin. “I think the Justice Department is going to take a look at this,” Reid told NBC’s Meet the Press. “This isn’t over with and I think that’s good. That’s our system, it’s gotten better, not worse.”
Whatever happened to the idea of no double jeopardy?

That bit about turning cheeks.

Bingo

Zimmerman should sue the networks that doctored the 911 phone calls in order to slander him. However, the behavior of the Martin family is entirely understandable because they lost their son, so sueing them would be kinda out of line.

If Zimmerman is smart, he will not sue anyone, and he will be quietly go away.

No he shouldn't.

He's in an excellent position to stand up to the race baiters and liars in the media.

I must respectfully disagree, he has no way of getting a job now, he's going to be in fear for his life for the rest of his life, and people irresponsibly smearing him to get ratings (or intentionally smearing him to further a political agenda) should be held accountable.

He really should just sue CNN for releasing his social security number on national Television, and MSNBC or NBC (whichever one creatively editted the 911 tape) in order to paint him as a racist.

Those are really the only ones he should sue atm.

Save for the screaming that interrupted the plan of suffocating him by holding his nose and mouth closed, that's what Martin thought.

Why should a man who has had his future irrevocably destroyed by the media and racists pursuing an agenda against him, go away and try to survive with what little is left to him?

Especially when the family of the thug that tried to kill him are millionaires now because their son failed to carry out his crime and ended up jumping the wrong man. One who had he not been armed and used his firearm that was otherwise holstered until that last desperate panic to gain access to the trigger before his attacker did, would be dead now.

You know, having quietly gone away because he was beaten to death by a 17 year old.
Would you want to go quietly away after someone tried and failed to kill you?

The Martin family should be left alone, sueing them would kick up a hornet's nest, not to mention I don't think he'd sue them to begin with because it would be extremely tacky to say the least.

The News Agencies that pulled the stunts involving the 911 tape and releasing his social security number on the other hand should be sued for obvious reasons.

Absolutely not. Their son is dead and I defy anyone here to say they would do differently than the Martin's have done. There's not a parent, sibling, grand parent, relative, or friend anywhere on this forum who would not go to war to seek justice against someone killing a loved one.

If there's a need to go after anyone it's the media, and folks like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Likely even the prosecutors office for a variety of reasons. But certainly not the Martin's.

Maybe the roles would be reversed. So what? You don't conduct yourself in an immoral manner just because it's what your "opponent" would have done had the roles been reversed.

Will you have that same attitude when Trayvon's parents sue Zimmerman, all parties claiming to be Christians?

The fact that "lawsuit" and "sue" are even words in a Christians vocabulary is disgusting. And that goes for any side of any issue.
