Do you prefer to use the Bible on your cellphone, or do you like having a hard copy of it to carry around with you? If you use it on your phone, what app do you use? If you carry it with you, do you prefer it to be hardcover, leather, or softcover? Do you use a Bible cover as well?

I like both methods. I use my Bible on my phone through the YouVersion app for daily reading during breaks at work. But for church, I prefer my actual Bible, as my phone can be distracting with everything else that's on it. I have a faux leather Bible with a Jeremiah 29:11 Bible cover.

I use my Bible app when I'm "on the go". I'm sure what Bible app I use as my phone is not next to me and honestly I just don't feel like getting up to get it. lol I do not use a Bible cover as I can't stand them or any dust jackets for that matter. They just drive me nuts! :)

I prefer the bible on my iPad. I use Olive Tree software and carry about six translations. I also use eSword and YouVersion.

I also have Olive Tree and YouVersion on my phone, but that's mostly just for looking up scripture when I'm on the go.

I have many bibles in real book form, but I find myself using them less and less.

I use the iPad to read scripture when I speak or preach in church.

If I coul afford an iPad I would do this same thing. It's just so convenient to carry around multiple translations without needing a backpack. Especially fo someone like me who may read from up to 4 different translations in one week. But all I have now is an iPhone and it is far too small to be convenient, though I did download esword for it the other day.

I used a Kindle before the iPad. It wasn't nearly as good as even the cell phone due to limited search capabilities. So, save your pennies for the iPad. You can get a refurbished iPad 2 pretty cheap these days.

Since I'm new on my walk with God, I prefer to have both my physical NKJV Bible (with a zipped faux purple leather cover with Hebrews 11:1 on it), and my Nexus 10. Mainly because sometimes the NKJV is a little confusing, so I look at a different translation to see if I can understand it better. Or if I'm reading like 15-20 scriptures at a time (Bible study class), and it's easier to just search for it. If it's something that's meaningful, I highlight in my Bible (after truly telling myself not to treat it like an idol!) and write scriptures in a smaller book to help me remember, and write in scriptures to read later.

I really like YouBible app a lot because you can have different Bible studies to choose from and it will pull out the scriptures for a specific topic. Currently, I have three - The Bible (the miniseries), Faith, and God's Faithfulness. I'm always hungry for more.

I'm very poor at recalling from memory, but I can tell you if I've read a scripture before.

For my personal devotions, I prefer my laptop or IPad. I use Bible gateway; I love that I can compare translations with a click of the mouse, and read multiple passages on one page. I also like that I can control the font size... Kinda nice for these aging eyes. But I def prefer to use my Bible at church or Bible study. I have used my iPad, but i just didnt like using it in that setting. I have a Message/NIV Side by side Bible in adorable pink!

TouchBible for Android and Apple is a nice bible. I think e-sword has an app also.

It is always nice to keep hard copies of any literary text, as digital can be easily tampered with - whether purposefully or accidentally (much more often than printed word.) And, for a text as expansive as the bible, it is good to have other sources to compare.

I've never used a bible phone app. One thing I'll say is that when you're in a bible study or church and you see someone staring at their phone and touching the screen, you can't tell if they're using a bible app or if they're texting, surfing the internet, etc. It could just be my personal preference, but it seems more respectful to use an actual physical bible in social situations.
