And - here we go.
This is me, wearing:
1. My Shukr abaya;
2. My scarf, to keep my bad hair day to myself;
3. My hunting earmuffs, to protect me from having to listen to everyone's conversations.
Talk about a private person, LOL.

Ya done good!

Mariya,

You look great! If you're interested and on Facebook, there is a group where Orthodox sisters who dress modestly and cover their heads (in church mostly, but a good number of us cover outside of church too) gather to talk. We talk about modesty and covering, as well as lots of other stuff too. Let me know if you'd like to check it out.

M.
Like, why would anyone NOT want to cover in church? When I go to Tridentine Catholic services, I see all ladies including little girls in mantillas one more exquisite than another. It is such a feminine and dignified look!

There is so much debate about women wearing vs not wearing head coverings, and I don't get why it's such an issue. It's not a gas mask or a burka, it's just a scarf or a piece of lace, why would anyone have an issue with it I have no idea.

Stormtroopers are attractive?!?! Gurney I mean this with much love brother, but you're getting old and need glasses! :p

You know, stormtroopers are all clones of Jango Fett, who is not so unattractive...

I love the tradition of veiling. Metropolitan Jonah said recently that the headcovering is the only vestment called for in the New Testament.

Episode III was absolutely STELLAR! Loved it! Don't be dissin' muh episodes 3, girl, ah-ite!? LOL

Bottom line is Hayden Christensen was a B-A-D choice for Anakin. Overacts, not convincing, too pretty. If they would've had an actor like Leonardo DiCaprio or Michael Fassbender types, and someone other than Natalie Portman (great to look at, acting very questionable!), better direction from Lucas, and the whole Episodes 1 and 2 could've been super. Jar-Jar was great for kids, but pretty rough goin' for the grown-ups! ^_^

Plus one minute Anakin is like ten, then he's like 22 LOL...but the woman he has the hots for is unchanged! :sorry::confused:

MKJ, you hush now. I refuse to acknowledge episodes 2 & 3 even exist. I'm still trying to forget episode 1, that was enough punishment and incentive to convince me to never, ever, not even on a pain of death, to watch 2 & 3. I won't do it, not even to see that face.

So, essentially, change everything...

Strangely enough, I've been planning out a Star Wars fanfic. It's ANH AU though. I'm also considering writing an Obi-Wan centered fic that is inspired by the Jedi Apprentice series. I obviously have too much time on my hands.

Well I think a major mistake was reducing the Force to "midi-clorions." That seems to take something that is a channeling of faith and reducing it to biology. It smacks of modern skepticism and atheism almost where the old Star Wars smelled of faith and something higher than ourselves...an allegory to God almost.

That's everything that counts.

Some of these little things drive me nuts. Now, don't get me wrong, I ABSOULTELY LOVED Iron Man (first movie). Adored it!

But I thought the biggest mistake in that movie was the fact that Tony Stark TELLS everyone on television, in front of the whole world, that HE is Iron Man....

I think the script, producers, filmmakers just don't understand WHY Tony as well as the other superheroes never admit their true identities. Yes, it protects the ones they love, but it's also an element of humility. In the old days, there was that virtue of humility. Hal Jordan can walk all over town knowing in his heart, "I'm Green Lantern!!!" and yet can't and doesn't tell anyone....humility. The job, the work, the salvation of others comes before ego...

That was lost on the Iron Man writers evidently....apart from that, that film was just rockin!

I agree 100%!
