It is sad to see some people going off on tangents about only calling God one certain name. The Bible doesn't even do that; and if we look carefully, a vast treasure in God's Word, regarding all of His names; collectively, one name. Please, remember the phrase "collectively one name" throughout this study as it will come up more than once; and it is very important to this topic. But more on that in future posts. :)

Greetings Castaway and Others:

I have become a subject that is so grievous to some because I chose to keep all the Commandments of ELOHIM. We as SDA always harp on the Sabbath but the Bible clearly states if you break one you are guilty of all of them. How can you think to keep the Sabbath if you don't reverence THEIR NAMES?

Do not use MY NAME for evil purposes, for I, YAHWEH your ELOHIM, will punish anyone who misuses MY NAME. Ex 20:7 Good News Bible Version

The Hebrew word "shav" that is called in vain in English is not what the Strong Dictionary points out it states: in the sense of desolating; evil (as destructive), literally (ruin). Since it appears that some refuse to understand what this mean let us allow the Etymology Dictionary break it down.

Desolating Late Latin dēsōlātiōn- stem of dēsōlātiō ) abandonment: Word Origin & History

Destructive from V.L. destrugere (cf. It. distruggere), refashioned (influenced by destructus), from L. destruere "tear down, demolish," lit. "un-build," An Etymological Dictionary of Modern English

Ruin "act of giving way and falling down,"An Etymological Dictionary of Modern English

And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in. Isa 58:12

It appears to me that paths is plural and means not only the Sabbath but all the waste places and foundations that have been forgotten for many generations. It is so strange that everyone suppose to keep Sunday holy and not even just Christians but the whole world. Now everyone uses the same name God but does that make it right? Knowledge has increase as Daniel prophesied and today anyone who desires to know the truth can research and found the answer about paganism today. Students from an early age are taught history on Greco-Roman and how they have changed our society with modern democracy using the internet throughout the world. It seems strange that those with higher degrees cannot recognize that the world has been Hellenized!

God (n.) O.E. god "supreme being, deity; the Christian God; image of a god; godlike person," from P.Gmc. guthan (cf. O.S., O.Fris., Du. god, O.H.G. got, Ger. Gott, O.N. guð, Goth. guþ), from PIE *ghut- "that which is invoked" (cf. O.C.S. zovo "to call," Skt. huta- "invoked," an epithet of Indra), from root *gheu(e)- "to call, invoke." But some trace it to PIE *ghu-to- "poured," from root *gheu- "to pour, pour a libation" (source of Gk. khein "to pour," also in the phrase khute gaia "poured earth," referring to a burial mound; see found (v.2)). "Given the Greek facts, the Germanic form may have referred in the first instance to the spirit immanent in a burial mound" [Watkins]. Cf. also Zeus. An Etymological Dictionary of Modern English

Zeus supreme god of the ancient Greeks, 1706, from Gk., from PIE *dewos- "god" (cf. L. deus "god," O. Pers. daiva- "demon, evil god," O.C.S. deivai, Skt. deva-), from root *dyeu- "to gleam, to shine;" also the root of words for "sky" and "day" (see diurnal). The god-sense is originally "shining," but "whether as originally sun-god or as lightener" is not now clear.

Today, our word ‘theology’ (meaning the study of God) comes from “Theo,” the root word of “Theos.” It would be difficult to call the Almighty, “the Deity,” particularly in our culture. People will most likely always call the Creator by the term “God,” even though this word is in no manner associated with scripture. . .

The King James translators used a pagan Anglo-Saxon word “god” from the Germanic “gad.” No one has ever really challenged this widespread use of this Indo-European word. The King James translators made the same erroneous translation of the covenant name of the Almighty. They changed the name “Yahweh,” which means, “He is,” to the Anglo-Saxon word, “LORD.” Why? They cared less about the truth of scripture than orthodoxy, and they decide to conform and relate to their manmade tradition. It was too much work, too big a leap of faith, and too unorthodox to step outside of their paradigms and comfort zone. Craig Bluemel, “The Origin of the English Word for God Part One"

Oddly, the exact history of the word God is unknown. The word God is a relatively new European invention, which was never used in any of the ancient Judaeo-Christian scripture manuscripts that were written in Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek or Latin.

According to the best efforts of linguists and researchers, the root of the present word God is the Sanskrit word hu which means to call upon, invoke, implore. Nonetheless, it is also interesting to note the similarity to the ancient Persian word for God which is Khoda. The following is a survey of some of the efforts of those who have been trying to decipher the ancient roots of the word God:Etymology of the Name God Now if the sources noted above are accurate, then the word that we use for the Supreme Being, God, comes from a very pagan origin. Thus the word god is used generically by many different religions to refer to their deity or “invoked one.” Some may laugh at the notion, the very idea that the word “God” has any origin or association with Hindu Sanskrit. To illustrate how this is possible, we again quote from ‘Family Word Finder’ on the historical development of our Modern English language:

The root-meaning of the name (from Gothic root gheu; Sanskrit hub or emu, "to invoke or to sacrifice to") is either "the one invoked" or "the one sacrificed to." From different Indo-Germanic roots (div, "to shine" or "give light"; thes in thessasthai "to implore") come the Indo-Iranian deva, Sanskrit dyaus (gen. divas), Latin deus, Greek theos, Irish and Gaelic dia, all of which are generic names; also Greek Zeus (gen. Dios, Latin Jupiter (jovpater), Old Teutonic Tiu or Tiw (surviving in Tuesday), Latin Janus, Diana, and other proper names of pagan deities. The common name most widely used in Semitic occurs as 'el in Hebrew, 'ilu in Babylonian, 'ilah in Arabic, etc.; and though scholars are not agreed on the point, the root-meaning most probably is "the strong or mighty one."

And in all that I have said to you take heed. And make no mention of the name of other mighty ones, let it not be heard from your mouth. Ex 23:13 Scripture 98+ Version (This version transliterate strictly from the Hebrew.)

The HEAVENLY FATHER has a NAME and surprisingly Adventist needs to proclaim this truth to world. The MAJESTY on HIGH NAME is mention 6,823 times in the Scriptures, yet it was falsely concealed by declaring it was too holy to write or to pronounce. Jewish translators or scholars were extremely impartial only having a form of holiness, creating false doctrines and traditions of an unreachable FATHER. Why would the FATHER through HIS SON announce HIS NAME YAHWEH to Moses, His servant for him to speak and to write down that we all might know how the THREE work together? The Scriptures clearly provide the mystery of salvation. And the Scriptures provided the importance of the only true personal NAME of the FATHER ALMIGHTY, and the NAME of HIS SON. YAHSHUA our SAVIOR'S NAME is the only NAME that gives salvation and the HOLY SPIRIT who leads and guide repentant sinners back to the FATHER! These HOLY NAMES are not meant to be forgotten, abbandon, left it behind, or even ruin THERE NAMES! Satan is happy because he want the world to keep us with these pagan names to dishonor the ALMIGHTY ONES and remember him and his anges the mighty ones! And SDA is gladly sounding the tune!!!!

Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is HIS NAME, and what is HIS SON'S NAME, if you know it? Proverbs 30:4

I am YAHWEH that is MY NAME: and My Honor will I not give to another (name), neither MY praise to graven images. Isaiah 42:8

Sing unto ELOHIM, sing praises to HIS NAME: Extol HIM that Rides upon the Heavens by HIS NAME YAH, and rejoice before Him. Psalm 68:4

Thy Name O YAHWEH, endureth forever; Thy Memorial, O YAHWEH, throughout all generations. Psalm 135:13

If YAHWEH be ELOHIM, follow HIM; but if Baal, then follow him. 1Kings 18:21 (Hebrew: Baal = Lord)

And they that know THY NAME will put their trust in THEE. Psalm 9:10

“HALLOWED be THY NAME." Matthew 6:9

How shall we search the Scriptures in order to understand what they teach? We should come to the investigation of ELOHIM Word with a contrite heart, a teachable and prayerful spirit. We are not to think, as did the Jews, that our own ideas and opinions are infallible; nor with the papists, that certain individuals are the sole guardians of truth and knowledge, that men have no right to search the Scriptures for themselves, but must accept the explanations given by the fathers of the church. We should not study the Bible for the purpose of sustaining our preconceived opinions, but with the single object of learning what ELOHIM has said. Some have feared that if in even a single point they acknowledge themselves in error, other minds would be led to doubt the whole theory of truth. Therefore they have felt that investigation should not be permitted, that it would tend to dissension and disunion. But if such is to be the result of investigation, the sooner it comes the better. If there are those whose faith in ELOHIM’S word will not stand the test of an investigation of the Scriptures, the sooner they are revealed the better; for then the way will be opened to show them their error. We cannot hold that a position once taken, an idea once advocated, is not, under any circumstances, to be relinquished. There is but ONE who is INFAILLABLE--He who is the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE.

Those who allow prejudice to bar the mind against the reception of truth cannot receive the divine enlightenment. Yet, when a view of Scripture is presented, many do not ask, Is it true--in harmony with ELOHIM’S Word? but, By whom is it advocated? and unless it comes through the very channel that pleases them, they do not accept it. So thoroughly satisfied are they with their own ideas that they will not examine the Scripture evidence with a desire to learn, but refuse to be interested, merely because of their prejudices. YAHWEH often works where we least expect HIM; HE surprises us by revealing HIS Power through instruments of HIS OWN choice, while HE passes by the men to whom we have looked as those through whom light should come. ELOHIM desires us to receive the truth upon its own merits--because it is truth.

The Bible must not be interpreted to suit the ideas of men, however long they may have held these ideas to be true. We are not to accept the opinion of commentators as the voice of ELOHIM; they were erring mortals like ourselves. ELOHIM has given reasoning powers to us as well as to them. We should make the Bible its own expositor. TM 105, 106

Finally, some of you claim to believe in EGW and scoff when she herself states she is a messenger. Well I believe in this remarkable woman so hear ye her! I will continue to present truth and those who choose not to believe it that is all right. However, those who want to learn to discuss sensibly with a contrite spirit to see if these things are true I am here to study with you. I do not know all things but what I do know and understand by the Power of the HOLY SPIRIT I will present and leave it up to each one to choose in their own mind what is truth.

Bless and bless the President,

Hello! i am just wondering: When/why/how did you become so interested in the names of God?

I was studying in Israel to be an archeologist and learn so many things. When I return to the States I went on a mission to investigate my belief and to understand the Bible as it was originally written. I came across writings of EGW who stated that words had been changed in the Bible by religious scholars base on their religious belief. I begin to investigate and to my surprise she was correct. I was listening to the Trinity Broadcasting Station and this Pentecostal minister asked a simple question. Why do we call the Holy Spirit a ghost? Again I perk and begin to realize that we have broken the commandment about ELOHIM NAME. I begin to pray and the numerous information I found in the Library and later online was mind botteling to say the lease. I realize that I must heed to the calling to repair the breach. This is what I am doing to those who want to know the truth! I can't make people believe I just present and answer questions to people like yourself who want to know why and then leave it up to you to want to learn more!

Blessings on you and the President,

yehovah

- self existent or eternal, Jehovah. The Jewish national name for God. Jehovah, the Lord

See Gen 15:1

In this text; "the Word of the Lord [yehovah] comes to Abraham and says "Fear not...I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward." An eternal Shield! An eternal reward! I can't think of anything better to start my work day with!

"The name of the Lord is a strong Tower: the righteous run to it and are safe...(Proverbs 18:10 ).

The FATHER cannot be described by the things of earth. The FATHER is all the fullness of the ELOHIM bodily, and is invisible to mortal sight. The SON is all the fullness of the ELOHIM manifested. The word of ELOHIM declares HIM to be "the express image of HIS PERSON." " ELOHIM so loved the world that HE gave HIS only BEGOTTEN SON, that whosoever believeth in HIM should not perish, but has everlasting life." Here is shown the personality of the FATHER.

The COMFORTER that the MESSIAH promised to send after HE ascended to Heaven is the SPIRIT in all the fullness of the ELOHIM, making manifest the POWER OF DIVINE GRACE to all who receive and believe in YAHSHUA as a personal SAVIOR. There are THREE living PERSONS of the Heavenly TRIO. In the name of these THREE POWERS,--the FATHER, the SON, and the HOLY SPIRIT, those who receive YAHSHUA by living faith are baptized, and these POWERS will cooperate with the obedient subjects of Heaven in their efforts to live the new life in YAHSHUA.Evangelism, p.614

The name YAHSHUA literally means “YAH" is SALVATION, and HE is called and recognize as our SAVIOR.

“For ELOHIM so loved the world that HE gave HIS ONLY Brought-Forth SON, so that everyone who believes in HIM should not perish but possess everlasting life. John 3:16 ISR 1998+

I have revealed YOUR NAME to the men whom YOU gave ME out of the world. They were YOURS, and YOU gave them to ME, and they have guarded YOUR Word. And I have made YOUR NAME known to them, and shall make it known, so that the love with which YOU LOVE ME might be in them, and I in them. John 17: 6, 26 ISR 1998+

Then I looked, and there was the LAMB standing on Mount Zion; and with HIM were 144,000 who had HIS NAME and HIS FATHER'S NAME written on their foreheads. Rev 14:1 KJV

The first word, “Issus” or “Jesus,” is Iota, Eta, Sigma, Omicron, Upsilon, and Sigma.

The second word, “Kristos” or “Christos” or “Christ,” is Chi, Rho, Iota, Sigma, Tau, Omicron, and Sigma.

Anglicized (English) Jesus Christ

New Testament
In the books of the New Testament which are written in Greek, the phrase " Iêsous ho Kristos" or "Iêsous ho Christos" is used. The word "ho" means "the" as The Only or The One. This phrase translates as "Jesus the Messiah" or "Jesus the Anointed" or "Jesus the Anointed One." Martha Liles, “Melkite Greek Catholic Church Information Center Thesaurus Terms Beginning with Ch,”

Using the word “MESSIAH” rather than “Christ,” is accurate and one title cannot be mistaken or substituted for the other because they are totally different in meaning. (Examples of this title in the Old Covenant are Dan. 9:25, Ps. 2:2). Also, YAHSHUA claimed this title of MESSIAH in the New Covenant (Mk. 14:61-62). The “MESSIAH” which means the “ANNOINTED ONE,” represents Him as Prophet, Priest, and King. “YAHSHUA” or the abbreviated form “YASHUA” is the only Name by which He was known to His disciples, however, HE has several other titles such as “RABBI,” “SON of Man,” and “KING of KINGS.”

One can links the word “Christ” to ancient Egyptian’s religion. This term “karast,” was used for the embalming oil of dead mummies. It was a special ritual for Egyptian’s Pharaohs who believed in the afterlife. This fact historically links “Christ" to the ancient Egyptian myths and ritual practices of Horus. Including Horus triad with his parents, Isis and Osiris which was the worship of the dead. Simply, put the word “Messiah,” means the anointing of the Life Giver-YAHSHUA. While the word “Christ,” means the anointing, worshiping and praising the dead!

Ancient Egypt - The change from bodily death to future life in spirit was acted as a transformation-scene in the mysteries of the resurrection. The mummy-Osiris was an effigy of death. The Sahu-mummy Amsu-Horus is an image of the glorious body into which Osiris transubstantiated to go forth from Sekhem as pure spirit. It is the mummy in this second stage that is of primary import. First of all the dead body was smeared over with unguents and thus glorified. During the process of anointing it was said, "O Asar (the deceased) the thick oil which is poured upon thee furnishes thy mouth with life. Krst (the 'K' is aspirated like 'Ch') is an Egyptian word meaning 'Burial.'E. A. Wallis Budge, “The Mummy: A Handbook of Egyptian Funerary Archaeology,” Edition: 2, p 163.

Yet scholarship would be hard put to substantiate any objection to the spellings Karist, Karest, Kerast, and Kerist of Krist. Indeed, as the root is very likely a cognate form with the Greek Kreas, flesh, there would be more warrant for writing it Krast, Krest, or Krist than the usual Karast. If we know how easily a “Kr” consonant metamorphoses into the Greek Chr, we cannot dismiss the suggested closeness of the word to the Chrestos or Christos as an absurd improbability. This may indeed be the Kamite origin of our name Christ, whatever is the outcry against such a conclusion.

There are presented some of their extremely interesting possibilities and this etymological situation, whereby the use of another file. We stand very close to the Latin crux, cross, the Middle English cros (cross) and our own word, crust. For indeed the grounding of the entire incarnation story might well be expressed in the grouping of the very terms: The Christ on the cross is the encrusting of the divinity with flesh (Greek kreas). Not far away also is our word, crystal, which contains the root meaning of incrustation, or the precipitation of spirit energies into waters of solidification around an accentuating nucleus of force. The large idea behind all of these forms that stands so closely related in spelling is just of spirit crystallizing and forming a crust about a spiritual node of life. And then the Greek word chruseos, golden, points to the end of the process to be consummated by the spirit and matter, when, metaphorically speaking, all base our forms of the encrusted covering or mummy will be transmuted by the divinity's glowing fire into the purest spiritual “gold.”

Our kreas or mummy case that, that becomes but the crust of our life here on the cross of flesh, kreas, will be translated into crystals of pure gold, chrysos, by undergoing the chrysalis transformation into full deification. Steel within the circle of these meanings we have chrism, cruse (of ointment), chrisom, an anointing oil (our cream –French cresme, with the “s” dropped out, be a derivative of this stem), and finally with in the glow of its influence, comes the bright outline of the meeting of the great sacrament of the Eucharist.Alvin Boyd Kuhn, “Lost Light: An Interpretation of Ancient Scriptures,” p 184, 185

There is a drawing located online that comes from the Source Dictionary of Christian Lore and Legend. I challenge you to check it out if you so dare. I doubt if you will if you are full of unbelief that you don't want to change. But if you do the evidence there is plain IESOUS = Hail Zeus translated Jesus = Hail Zeus. These things are not hidden for those who want to really know the truth. Yes only scholars knew these things but now ELOHIM has given the knowledge of the internet to tract down reliable sources that all can know the deception of Satan against YAHWEH'S Law and Commandments.

Blessings and to the President,

Still refusing to accept the fact that there was no W in Hebrew--Google "w in Hebrew"--you'll find many links that will tell you the truth--and that God has many names, names He called Himself-- Go to hebrew4christians.com
they'll run them down for you with the Hebrew words--the W is a modern invention, it was never in the old. But when you only go to sites that say what you want to hear, you will never find out the truth, and will continue to not only believe a lie, but also teach it.

Ever since God created the world, his invisible qualities, both his eternal power and his divine nature, have been clearly seen; they are perceived in the things that God has made. So those people have no excuse at all! (Rom 1:20)

The Bible shows clearly that you speak falsehoods.

"For the full content of divine nature lives in Christ, in his humanity," (Col 2:9)

Through our personal relationship with Jesus, and through the things He has made re creation, the Father can indeed be described, and seen.

"you have been given full life in union with him." (Col 2:10)

The names of God I am sharing here in this thread are in the Bible; they are direct quotes, and they each contribute to describing the personal relationship we can each have with our Lord, so your problem is not with me; it is with God's Word. I have never seen such a confusing post.

You cannot undo what scripture says and all I am doing is presenting that. I prefer the Bible to any of your puffed up studies. Reverencing God's name is a totally different thing than studying and discussing the meaning/s of it.

As I said before, each of God's names have a different meaning which describes various felt needs that we all have from time to time. This is a subject that I have some deep personal experience in that I feel others will enjoy. The testimonies of scripture will trump your very confusing human authors and "studies" any day...

"The name of the Lord is a Strong Tower: the righteous run to it and are safe." (Proverbs 18:10 ).

We must recall Prov 18:10, as we look at each of the different meanings of God's name, and take comfort that the Bible calls these "A Strong Tower."

Yahweh - Gmolah

At first glance, this name of God kind of bothered me. It is a name taken from Jer 51:56 , meaning: "the Lord God of Recompense..." Sounds a little scary at first, doesn't it?

But this is a case where just a little bit of extra digging will uncover a much richer meaning to this name; a meaning which I would never have considered, except for the fact that I started unpacking all this stuff from moving, and found this big envelope with all these many names of God on the pages therein.

Let us look at the text which this name is taken from:

Jer 51:56 KJV "for the LORD God of recompences shall surely requite. And in the GNB we read: GNB "I am a God who punishes evil, and I will treat Babylon as it deserves."

Since embarking upon this study of all the many names of God; I have formed one, very firm conclusion. To me; it is evident that for each and every name of God; there is a corresponding human need that can be met.

I have sometimes gotten really upset with God about death. I mean; it is ugly. It is an enemy. And it is so unfair. So unforgiving. This week, a man in town died. He was in his mid-forties, 10 years younger than me...his two teenaged sons were weeping uncontrollably at the funeral; and the whole thing just made me really mad for a short while - and I have cried out in my heart before at this kind of thing: "why is it allowed Lord??!!"

Well; based upon a more literal rendition of the text for God's name in this post, using Strong's numbers from a concordance; I have come to view this text as meaning the following:

"for the Lord God of such a reward, will surely make things right" Granted; this text, in it's immediate context is addressing "Babylon" and God's judgment thereupon, but there is an important point to remember for this kind of thing, especially in light of "last day events." A quote from the spirit of prophecy will enlighten us here:

"While the earth is wrapped in the fire of God's vengeance, the righteous abide safely in the Holy City. Upon those that had part in the first resurrection, the second death has no power. (Revelation 20:6 .) While God is to the wicked a consuming fire, He is to His people both a sun and a shield." (Psalm 84:11 .) {SR 429.2}

Just like when Jesus was getting baptized; and The Father said: "I am well pleased," most of the people present there had thought they were just hearing "thunder;" but those who knew Jesus and were His disciples, heard The father pronounce this blessing of the ages upon all who love Him, and look to Him in trust and hope.

At the resurrection; we, as Christians have the hope of eternal life; but those who turn Jesus away in their hearts have no hope at all. For the great God of "recompense" will make all things right. "He shall surely requite" is how our text puts it. So this promise is something different to each of the two groups of people on earth. Those who hear His Voice, and those who hear only thunder.

According to the text; even in this life; God is willing and able to be our Sun and our Shield; and He makes things right. We can trust that He will always be standing by to be our Sun and our Shield.

I am waiting for Him to make many things right. I was once severely burned beyond recognition; my own mother didn't even know who I was when she first came to see me in hospital; and even today, I slammed one of my fingers in a car door and I can hardly type this post; my fingernail is all bleeding and purple..."Why Lord? Why?" and yet I just keep thinking back to all the times and ways that Jesus has been my Sun and my Shield through it all. The Bible tells us how that even while we sit in darkness; the Lord will be our Light. (Micah 7:8 ). The Lord God of "recompense" who is well-able to handle all the sin and rebellion; must then also be more than capable of being the Sun and the Shield of our life today.

We can all hope in Christ, no matter how handicapped or frail we may think our circumstances are. God and His love can obscure some of our problems and difficulties; so that even today; He will be to us our Sun, and our Shield. Indeed, this is why

"The name of the Lord is a strong Tower: the righteous run to it and are safe." (Proverbs 18:10 )

"Everlasting God" Isaiah 40:28

It is no wonder that "the name of the Lord is a strong Tower, and that the righteous run to it and are safe." (Proverbs 18:10 ) I wonder, have we really thought about the kind of God we profess to love and serve? Do we really "know His name?" Do we really know what it is to "set our love on Him?" (Psalms 91:14 )

You could pick every single, or any one of the many different names for God that you have read/will read in this thread; and He has always, He is always, and He will be always, all of these to all people, all of the time. Think deeply about what this actually means.

"Everlasting God" means just that!

God will always be there for us. :)

"The Lord, my Sanctifier"

Exodus 31:13

Soon; I will run out of pages from this envelope; however, we can be encouraged that this thread will continue, for as I hinted in the last post, there are yet many names for God in the Bible that we can add to this study.

There are sometimes, different ways of saying the same thing. Look at how the Good News version of the Bible (GNB) states the text this name of God is from:

Exo 31:13 to tell the people of Israel, "Keep the Sabbath, my day of rest, because it is a sign between you and me for all time to come, to show that I, the LORD, have made you my own people. (GNB)

Now; lets look at the KJV wording to see where this name comes from:

Exo 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. (KJV)

People have often made sport of Adventists regarding this text, because of the way the following text talks about being "put to death" for not keeping the Sabbath properly, but if you look into this a little more, the problem is with people, not the text. Maybe it is just pointing to the fact that when we choose our way, instead of God's way, that is why we would end up perishing.

Too often, we judge one another on the internet. Even if something is "true," we pride ourselves at times in posting publicly about it, justifying it by saying "I am just getting at the truth." How many people have been turned away from the kingdom of heaven, because we could not take the trouble to question them privately, or to listen to people for a bit and see where they are coming from, before we "expose" them? Maybe, we just end up exposing ourselves when we do this?

As we can see by the text for this name, and by looking at the different versions; there is always a different way to say something - always an alternative to the hard road of walking in our own "light," and there is always a way to know that we are being a true Christian, and "running" to that name above all names, every time we post on the internet. Let us consider His name; and His glory, every time we hit the keyboard.

"The name of the Lord is a strong Tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." (Proverbs 18:10 )

"My Stronghold"

Psalms 18:2

"The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him. But with an overrunning flood He will make an utter end" of all who endeavor to exalt themselves above the Most High. Nahum 1:7 , 8 . {PK 366.2}

Untried character is not reliable. We are to be tried by temptation in order that we may learn to seek wisdom from God and to flee to the stronghold in time of trouble. He alone will be successful in resisting temptation who finds help and grace from God. Individually we stand as did our first parents--face to face with manifold temptations that solicit mind and heart. All heaven is watching with intense interest to see whether we will look unto Jesus and submit ourselves to His will, or whether in the temptation we shall follow the inclinations of the natural heart and the solicitations of the evil one. {TMK 276.2}

"The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." (Proverbs 18:10 ).

He Is
Messiah

Dan 9:25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Dan 9:26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

John 1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

John 4:25 The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things.

"The Most High, Strongest One."

Genesis 14:19 , 20 , 22

"The name of the Lord is a Strong Tower; the righteous run to it and are safe." (Proverbs 18:10 ).

For your infomation Israel did no use El which is singular and was used for Baal. When you see the letters Adonai cap it was to replace YAHWEH. The Jews likse the leaders in the SDA Church invented doctrines and traditions that are not in the Bible.

I saw that ELOHIM had especially guarded the Bible; yet when copies of it were few, learned men had in some instances changed the words, thinking that they were making it more plain, when in reality they were mystifying that which was plain, by causing it to lean to their established views, which were governed by tradition. But I saw that the Word of ELOHIM, as a whole, is a perfect chain, one portion linking into and explaining another. True seekers for truth need not err; for not only is the Word of ELOHIM plain and simple in declaring the way of life, but the Holy Spirit is given as a guide in understanding the way to life therein revealed. EW 220, 221
TM 105, 106

It is sad that you refuse to see that this is breaking the Commandment about HIS NAME. You can write all of this but I keep coming back to state that all of the words connected to El was to worship a pagan deity. You can believe what you want but I want all to know that this is not what EGW provided in warning she herself gave to the minister. I am keeping that message alive!

Be bless and bless President Obama,
