I have a lot of free time and so sometimes I go to youtube to listen to preachers, speakers and theologian. I've found both good videos and videos I didn't like so much. Or it was a mixed bag, like, I found that sometimes the same speaker says good things but in his next video I feel uncomfortable with him. For example, John Piper. I think this man is close to God, but I also think he has a serious anger problem and when that comes through in his sermons I feel very repelled, and it's as if his anger is contagious. It's awful sometimes, really. I've also learned that Piper is a calvinist and I don't like calvinism much, have some serious reservations there.
Then recently I found a video of a lutheran sermon, and sincerely, it was so good. It really gave me that warm high church feeling. No fire and brimstone preaching, just Jesus and His love, and inspiring us to have faith.
So now I would like to find more good lutheran videos and/or websites. Just generally places online where I can find christian inspiration and comfort. I require preachers to be kind and considerate of their audience, not making the sermon a show.
Another preacher I have really come to watch often is Marc Driskoll. I think he has a good way of teaching things and I am sure he knows what love and compassion is and how to uphold these virtues if you don't find someone good.
But again, I would like to listen more to what my own church has to say and to drink from my own fountain, so to speak.
