dad:
You think of yourself as something more than a mere man? You really are ill, dad. What have the psychiatrist's actually diagnosed you with? From your posts you have delusions, confused thinking and possible hallucinations. You could be schizophrenic or schizoaffective I suppose. Whatever your psychiatric problem, dad, you'll have been prescribed medication. It would be advisable for you to take this medication otherwise you're just going to get worse and end up having a full blown psychotic episode and get locked away.
You have dad confused with someone else. Dad is God's Special Prophet here on earth. The Only One around today. Moses, John the Baptist, and perhaps even Jesus of Nazareth have nothing on dad.

True, but I think Jesus was clearly off his chump too. Even C.S. Lewis, who was a believer, said (and I love this quote for its honesty):

“That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else he would be the Devil of hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God; or else a madman or something worse.”

And there you have it, Jesus was off his coconut, poor egg. You only have to read the sermon on the mount to realise that, it's complete drivelling bargewater from beginning to end. I expect Joseph and Mary were pretty odd parents too, probably gave him issues. Telling you that your real dad is god isn't going to do you a whole lot of good I shouldn't imagine.

I don't agree with this. first of all, you have to keep in mind that nothing in The Bible was written by Jesus' own hand. Secondly, Jesus never calls himself God. He refers to "his father," but then God is everyone's father. This is one reason why there was a controversy in the early church over the divinity of Jesus. I also don't agree that the Sermon on the mount was all drivel. Hyperbole, perhaps... but not drivel. Remember, Jesus was a pacifist, and with the exception of blowing up at the temple, non-violent.

Except here:

John 10:30 I and my Father are one.
This is a good point, and one used often to support the Trinity concept. However, he still does not come out and say "I am God." In fact, in the face of a direct accusation of blasphemy for claiming to be God, he replies that he is the "son of God."

29My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30I and my Father are one.

31Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

32Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

33The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

34Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

35If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

36Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

37If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

38But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

You do realize that that is dispensational, I hope?
You do realize that I categorically reject all this dispensation stuff.. right?

Should He have checked with you before responding?

You are being very combative about this, AVET. I am mearly pointing out that Jesus never said he was God (according to the accepted gospels). I find that to be very interesting. You probably don't for obvious reasons. In any case, this is really going off on a tangent and way off the thread topic.

False. The names and titles of God were claimed by Him. Why do you think the Pharisees rent their clothes? Because they were too expensive to buy?

"Alpha and Omega: (Revelation 1:8; 22:13) – Jesus declared Himself to be the beginning and end of all things, a reference to no one but the true God. This statement of eternality could apply only to God.

Emmanuel: (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:23) – Literally “God with us.” Both Isaiah and Matthew affirm that the Christ who would be born in Bethlehem would be God Himself who came to earth in the form of a man to live among His people.

I Am: (John 8:58, with Exodus 3:14) – When Jesus ascribed to Himself this title, the Jews tried to stone Him for blasphemy. They understood that He was declaring Himself to be the eternal God, the unchanging Jehovah of the Old Testament. "

What are the different names and titles of Jesus Christ?

The stars in heaven confirmed the arrival.

Mt 2:9 -When they heard the king, they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was.

This is proof that stars are not suns, from the bible, I would submit.

If the same stars can be seen from different parts of the planet at the same time, just as the moon and sun can be seen from different parts of the planet, then stars are clearly pretty big objects that are going to make a bit of a dent if they all hit Earth. You don't even need to perform any measurements and calculations to determine that.

i don't think he ever outright said it, but this verse is generally interpreted as Jesus calling himself God:

John 8:57-59 said:
57 Then the Jews said to him, "You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?" 58 Jesus said to them, "Very truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I am." 59 So they picked up stones to throw at him, but Jesus hid himself and went out of the temple.

The phrase "I am" has a special meaning because it's the name God gave himself when he presented himself to Moses:

Exodus 3:13-14 said:
13 But Moses said to God, ‘If I come to the Israelites and say to them, “The God of your ancestors has sent me to you”, and they ask me, “What is his name?” what shall I say to them?’ 14God said to Moses, ‘I am who I am.’ He said further, ‘Thus you shall say to the Israelites, “I am has sent me to you.”

Kidding aside, the color of a star doesn't tell it's size. Got anything but beliefs?

By your reasoning satellites can be seen from different parts of the earth, so if one falls, it would obliterate the planet too?

You don't even need to perform any measurements and calculations to determine that.
You can't! That is your problem. The only method I have seen here so far that size and distance and composition of stars are based on, is the method of assuming that earth is the same as the rest of the universe! Got anything else?

I am surprised by the fizzle of science cheer leaders here, to come out and make a strong case for the standard concepts of stars.

Kids, look at the sky in a whole new way. It's exciting!

It sure took you some time, but I am happy to see you have come to your senses and admit that there is no God.

Way to go, Dad!
