Now this is something I can see as being already fulfilled (which is not to say it won't happen again)
What do you mean happen again?
Where in the NT does it show happening twice?

1 Peter 4:7 Of all-things yet the End has neared.
Be ye of sound mind! then, and be ye sober! into the prayers

False prophets in Daniel in the Bible. Revived Roman Empire, Beast of the Apocalypse of Mark, and Antiochus the Selucid Greek
*snip*

......This would, of course, require ending the world twice (once to Revive the Romansand thus salvage chapter 9, and a second go at it to revivethe Greeks and salvage chapter 12. Whether or not we can all tolerate suffering through two ends of the world is a good question, but this would be required to salvage the doctrine of 'Biblical inerrancy.'.......

Well the first fulfillment could be the daniel fulfillment

and the second the Revelation fulfillment

they are afterall distinctly different stories .

Ok, back to good ol' Mel (not Gibson)

Even though he was originally prophetic, I think we can hopefully all agree we have something to both learn and strive towards w/ this wonderful figure. The relevant question is - what?

So here I have a couple ideas gleaned from across CF's pages, from different posters, who remain completely oblivious to the fact they may be contributing to this thread: :D

Part of a certain poster's (rather long) tagline:

"The highest Wisdom is phronēsis. Strong's Number G5428

All the other meanings for wisdom
are the Greek Sophia #4678 Sophia= grace Phronesis = mind of Christ , truth

OT term for Greek Phronesis is Hebrew Tsaddik or Zaddik
Stronge Concordence # 6663 in the Hebrew. ~Righteous~

The process of Wisdom leaves one naked as Saul was left twice in prophesy.
A new man with a new heart, stripped of kingship, social roles.
His base identity beyond human judgement. Samson without the strength of covering.

To have faith is of the many tribes of Abraham, God can raise these from stones.
To have grace is from the promise of Sarah
To have Phronesis is to be in the will of God."

I saw that and asked if there's any relationship to MelchiZEDEK?
Here's somebody else's (unrelated) post:

"Melchizedek (from Hebrew מַלְכִּי־צֶדֶק melech-i-tzédek, literally "righteousness is my king")

Sadducees - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hebrew name, Tsdoki, indicates that they are the followers of the teachings of the High Priest Tsadok, often spelled Zadok, who anointed Solomon king at the start of the First Temple Period."

Anything to this, or just a rabbit trail?

Answer from an Orthodox Jew on another thread:

"Because the Christians had sided with the Romans during the 1st jewish War and acted as informants, spies and guides for the Roman army."

"The time period were early Christianity and Judaism seemed indistingushable from each other was from the death of Jesus Christ in 31 CE to the Destruction of the 2nd Temple in 70 CE. By that time, Judaism had already instituted efforts to drive out the remaining Christian members in Eretz Israel as well as the Eastern Mediterranean part of the Roman Empire who were rabidly pro-Roman."

The same poster also says there's no basis for James having served in the Temple in any respect relating to their Liturgy. (Although I haven't clarified if that excludes any type of Jewish Temple service)

Um... Did he also say that Christ didn't rise from the grave?

Forgive me...

No doubt ^_^

Just trying to see what history can be established, and agreed upon, by all parties there.

Some time ago these details seemed to have relevance in this thread, but right now I can't tell what this is.

I wonder if he would also deny that there "is/was" a royal priesthood?

Perhaps we could ask him the difference between a Priest wearing wool and a Priest wearing linen?

Forgive me...

What, we wear wool for now?

Perhaps he will deny it and say their were no Priests that wore linen in the Temple.

Anybody remember anything special about Christ's garments?

Forgive me...

Abraham converted Mel.

Mel Gibson keeps popping into my head...

{exerpted to avoid repititious Gibsonschism}

Forgive me...

Abraham paid tribute to Melchizedek once he comprehended the personage who appeared to him. As the designated receiver of the peace sacrifice of the Most Hight God, Melchizedek represented the return of the earth to peace after a time of war, and the eternal rule of peace in the Kindgom of the Most High.

Mel G. paid tribute to the Judicial Branch of the State of California for his DWI violations. He paid his peace tribute to a higher power than his own.

Similarities exist in the Houses of Mels;).

Shatnez - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Shatnez (or Sh'atnez/Shaatnez) (שעטנז) is the prohibition in Jewish law derived from the Torah that prohibits the wearing of a fabric containing both wool and linen (linsey-woolsey); this forbidden mixture is referred to in Judaism as shatnez. The relevant parts of the Torah (Leviticus 19:19 and Deuteronomy 22:5, 22:9-11) prohibit an individual from wearing wool and linen fabrics in one garment, the interbreeding of different species of animals, and the planting together of different kinds of seeds (collectively known as kilayim).

Does the EO claim to be the order of Melchizedek?

To clarify...

The clergy of The Orthodox Church claim to be exercising the liturgical office of Christ.

Christ is the eternal Priest of the order of Melchizedek.

To say that they explain 'themselves' as being of the 'order of Melchizedek' would be to undo the great lengths they go to explain what that means when asked.

Forgive me...

MELCHIZEDEK

One of the most intriguing descriptions of the unique character of the High Priesthood of Jesus is found in Heb. 7:17 wherein it is stated, "Thou art a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek."

This one grand statement shows that Jesus is not like any of the other priests who the people of Israel knew so much about. The entire seventh chapter of Hebrews is about THE MELCHIZEDEK CONNECTION,
