So here it goes...my kids will be flying alone for the first time. My brother in TX has wanted them to come up for a while, this is the year I finally said yes. They wanted them for a week but I compromised on a few days. They are flying out tomorrow afternoon and I will be joining them Friday night or Sat am there. Obviously since I work for the airlines and we have traveled I'm more comfortable with it perhaps then other parents. I won't leave the gate until the plane is gone and I'm actually staying in the area (meeting some friends) for a while in case for some crazy reason the plane gets sent back lol.
They've flown with me many times and know all the rules...plus I will accompany them to the gate and my sil or brother will meet them at the gate there. I have paperwork to fill out. They will have their backpacks w/reading stuff, snacks and video games...they know about seatbelts, when they can get up to bathroom and when to turn videos off. Plus the flight attendants I'm confident will be great with them. It's a nonstop 2.5 hr flight, I travelled international alone at their age (they are 9 and almost 11) so they should be fine. Even better is if first class is open tomorrow But at least the flight looks good in coach and they should be able to sit together if they don't clear first.
Please keep them and me (my nerves lol) in prayers if you can! When I first mentioned it my oldest was immediately sold-the youngest was hesitant for a couple days but now is incredibly excited-wants to tell all his friends-they're feeling all grown up and stuff hehe.
Anyways-these are my babes-so wanted to request some prayers for them and this anxious mom.
