Amidah

For the time being, I opt for the daily prayer schedule outlined by the MJRC, but mostly because I have a really short attention span, and I find my mind wanders with too much liturgy.

There are no daily prayers for gentiles floating around out there, so I make due.

I pray the amidah in the morning. The beauty of this prayer is there are places throughout, that personal prayer can be added in.

Welcome to the forum ohevet.

Prayer, reading studying the word, meditating upon the Lord, teaching and defending the faith all these things feed and exercise the spirit. In this I find merit in liturgical prayer because left to our own devices we'd be on the computer in front of the television or at work every waking hour and our spirits would be emaciated worms in our bodies... starved to death if spirits could die... we need "religious" practices to keep us in the spirit and out of the worldliness as much as possible.
