Where do Christians stand on the notion of bisexuality? I can't seem to find any recognition of it in Scripture!

I don't see anything about it in scripture, either. And our modern societies are quite different in our assumptions about sexuality, as well as in our sexual institutions, from those that formed the Bible's original contexts. So without delving into any deep biblical studies, I would only say a few things.

1) The Bible doesn't say very much about sexual orientation, as we understand the concept today.

2) The Bible (especially the NT, the prophets and the Wisdom literature) does not condone promiscuity. To the degree that acting out bisexuality in our culture necessarily involves promiscuity (sexual partners of both genders) I don't think it is supported by the Bible. Celibacy or monogamy are still the biblical ideals. Most humans have sexual attractions they should not act on.

I take these as principles for today's modern societies. I make no comment on women who lived in harems and some other social arrangements that may be biblical, but are completely foreign to most of us posting on these forums.

1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders 1 Corinthians 6:8-10 (in Context) 1 Corinthians 6 (Whole Chapter)

Romans 1 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.
24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, 25 who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. 27 Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

I think most of us have seen those scriptures before. What point are you trying to make WRT this thread topic? How do you think they relate to the contemporary notion of bisexuality?

Christians run the spectrum on issues of orientation, and for each position there are verses that seem to support their view.

While I haven't seen much in Scripture about this issue, it's interesting to note that since God made us, male and female, in His image, His image would logically contain both male and female attributes. So it's not a stretch to believe that this aspect of God is, at times, reflected in a single human being containing both male and female attributes rather than two separate individuals of just one gender attribute each.

God creates humans who physically have both male and female reproductive organs (hermaphrodites), so it's easy to see how He could create people who have more subtle, non-physical characteristics pulling them in both directions, such as bisexuals.

The Bible through and through portrays any sexual act between two people of the same sex as sin. I have quite a bit of experience with those who will take the Word of God apart and twist normal meanings of words to portray it as normal. But a simple, literal reading of the entire Bible is clear.

The OT seems to me conspicuously silent about sexual acts between women. And in the NT, there's only one reference that might refer to them.

I don't think the ancients looked at homosexuality in the same way we moderns tend to.
