Exodus 4:22-23  And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my firstborn: [23] And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.

As men deal with God’s people, let them expect so to be dealt with. Isreal was not only a servant to God, but also a son to him.

So God did it because Pharoah said he was going to do it first? That's like a six-year-old in a fight claiming "he started it!"

I expect more maturity and restraint from a Supreme Being, especially when dealing with something as low and insignificant as humanity.

It is not God that is harsh, but sin. The law of God is good & just, proper and true. But the law of God exposes sin and the consequences of sin. The wages of sin is death and the natural result of sin is as cruel as the grave.

I'm as much a fan of poetic justice as the next man, but the problem is that the result of sin here is NOT natural, it's supernatural. God did it with a miracle, and miracles are not, by definition, part of the natural world.

God is a God of Justice, absolute and righteous Justice. But He is also a God of love, mercy, grace and truth. So, How can HE be a God of love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. Yet still be a God of absolute and perfect justice? That is a good question and I would be more than glad to have a Bible study with you on this, if that is what your interested in doing.

So you've singlehandedly proven that the Christian faith contradicts itself. Thank you.

Everything your doing is leading up to showing that the world was in need of a Saviour, and that Jesus was sent to do just that. To save the world from sin, and the consequances of sin.

and yet sin still exists, as do the consequences. Apparantly the world still needs a savior.

You father the devil is death and destruction and out to destroy as many as he can.

I just got off the phone with my father (what's the area code for hell? Oh, right, 666) and he thanks you for thinking so highly of him.

Does anyone really know what the 40 youth are saying to the prophet? What kind of an insult is "You're bald." For God to kill some boys for that seems ridiculous, but is that really what they're saying?

I would like someone well-versed in Hebrew to correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told that the youth were mocking the prophet saying "Go on up to heaven." Prophets shaved their heads in those days as a sign of respect for God. The youth most likely were mocking the man because of his belief in God and his ability to prophecy. It would make sense if the prophet brought a curse on them not because he was insulted, but because they mocked his God.

Anyone know more details (or perhaps you can just ramble on about how stupid Christianity is without considering the angles)? I'd like to know whether this is true or not.
