Hey I just noticed this was an alphatical thread and I apologise!!! Didn't mean to derail the thread.
You're harsh...
It takes more than one repetition to derail one of my threads! This train's gettin' to ZZ-top even if I have to X-ray Spexx and Yazoo it there.

You're forgiven...

For M
I would probably go for Models. If I was more computer savvy I might be able to link a copy of Out of Mind, Out of Sight but maybe someone could do that for me.

I'd go for Marillion : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RukkWFZWECshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RukkWFZWECs
I believe he's commenting on the break up of a marriage when they get tired of each other . .

Washing machine, pinstripe dream
Stripped the gloss from a beauty queen
Punch and judy, judy
Found our nest, in the daily express
Met the vicar in a holy vest
Punch and judy
Punch and judy

Brought up the children church of e
Now I vegetate with a colour tv
Worst ever thing that ever happened to me
Oh, for d.i.v.o.r.c.e.
Oh judy

Whatever happened to pillow fights
Whatever happened to jeans so tight, friday nights
Whatever happened to lovers lane
Whatever happened to passion games
Sunday walks in the pouring rain

Punch
Punch
Punch and judy
Punch and judy
Punch and judy
Punch
Punch
Punch and judy
Punch and judy
Punch and judy

Curling tongs, mogadons, I got a headache baby, dont take so long
Single beds, middle age dread
Losing the war in the waistlands spread

Who left the cap of the toothpaste tube
Who forgot to flush the loo
Leave your sweaty socks outside the door
Dont walk across my polished floor, oh judy

Whatever happened to morning smiles
Whatever happened to wicked wiles, permissive styles
Whatever happened to twinkling eyes
Whatever happened to hard fast drives
Complements on unnatural size . . .

Rick Astley, Genesis, Dire Straits & the like fans need not apply . . .

This is for those bands that really set the Zeitgeist.

People danced in those days and electronic, computer-aided sound was all the rage and the video had it's heyday . . .

I'll start the ball rolling with Norway's finest . . .

A-ha

I found out about A-ha through Family Guy ..

P . . . has to be Pet Shop Boys .. this track was a theme tune of the 80s, kinda captures the zeitgeist - go to London, get rich and show it.
great song thanks for letting me hear it again. I have it on cd but packed away atm!

For me, R would be Canada's finest, a musicians band, Rush. Here's Tom Sawyer . .

(the live performance is better as it has more synth sound, but the video feed is a bit jumpy)

I'm going out of sync here.

My all-time favorite song from the 80s...and was when it FIRST came on the radio...(holy cow, I'm THAT old?), is "Foolish Beat" by Debbie Gibson. She was my first "celebrity crush"...but I think that's another thread :p
How about "Celebrities who glorify God", may be a fairly short one, let's see . . . .
