buddha isn't mentioned in the Bible.

There are about worshiping false idols, but I've never heard anything about budda and since he wasn't around until long after scripture was written...?

Yeah, I think its in acts or something...

It does mention though not to worship false idols and such.

There are lots of warnings in the Bible about false teachers who proclaim worldly, sensual or devilish wisdom. There would be no reason to name every one of them. It was the healings and the miracles that showed Jesus represented God. So that His teaching could be trusted. Even Jesus said that if He did not do the works of the Father, not to believe Him.

2 Tim. 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

We are to stay away from any teacher who does not have the power of God. If you do not see any miracles or healing, they do not represent God.

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Note that these signs follow after true believers. When they have come and gone they will leave healed people behind them. Not just put on a show. Satan can put on a show, but the people do not stay healed because then he would be a house divided against himself.

Mark 3:26 And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.



 


 

Ezekiel 8 describes the various scenes of men and women worshipping idols:

And he brought me to the door of a court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.
Then he said unto m, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I digged in the wall, behold a door.
And he said unto me, Go in and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.
So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed upon the walls round about.
And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the midst of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censor in his hand; and a thick cloud of insence went up.
Then he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chamber of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord has forsaken the earth.
He said unto me, Turn thee yet again, and thou shalt see greater abominations that they do.
Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the Lords house which was toward the north; and behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.
Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, Oh son of man? turn thee yet again, and thou shall see greater abominations than these.
And he brought me to the inner court of the Lords house, and behold at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the alter, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the Lord, and their faces towards the east: and they worshipped the sun towards the east.
Then he said unto me, Hast thou seen this, Oh son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence and have returned to provoke me with anger: and lo, they put the branch to their nose.
Therefore will I also deal in fury; mine eyes shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in mine ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
