I liked Stryper's albums through "To Hell With The Devil"

I think they went downhill after that.
AMEN!!!!....
To hell with the Devil is still on my IPOD

When new stuff comes and goes....stryper has been on there

Reborn was a decent CD....def the best since THWTD!

*** I LOVE Drive!! My favourite was always This Disco. He still writes some amazing lyrics, but they're not quite so satirical now. But still brilliant.

LOL yah, Steve's got a lot to do with why I even started to listen to them. The fact that they're Aussie has more to do with it. Taylor doesn't produce so much anymore, Peter does that himself, but Steve has co-written many of their songs in the past 8-10 years.

Oh and I loved Michael English. I could listen to his voice for hours. I miss him.

I was at the very last concert of Sweet Comfort Band (of which Bryan Duncan was a member)

Ray

Where was that, Ray? I saw SCB at Cornerstone '84 (I think it was in June). That was the show where they announced to the world they were disbanding, which blew everbody totally away, and they told us that it would be their last show in the midwest. I wonder how many shows they did after that?

Cornerstone '84 also saw the arrival of a new Christian band. The announcers kept teasing us the first couple of nights that they had an awesome new 'special guest', and on the last night they introduced Kerry Livgren (of Kansas fame, the guy that wrote 'Dust in the Wind' and 'Carry On My Wayward Son' for you youngsters!! ;) ) and his new band, AD!!

Ya, i was there too - my thinking was that that was their last concert, - i guess, according to your recollection, that i was wrong.

And Kerry Livgren and A.D. were awesome - KL was (is?) a great songwriter, one of the best! ;)

P.S. I might have been wrong about seeing the last concert ever done by SCB BUT i'm not about seeing Firework's last concert here in Toronto! The opening act didn't arrive (everyone cheered!! :D) giving Firework's more time to perform their wonderful songs. Got a chance to speak one-on-one with Marty McCall for 5-10 mins. (founder, songwriter, singer etc) of the group and tell him how much his music meant to me (and, i'm sure, to many others)

I haven't read this entire thread....has anyone mentioned Wayne Watson already? He's still touring and has a new album coming out later this year. I Love his music.

Anyone remember this Carman song? I can't remember the name but the theme of it is fighting temptation.

"Well I woke up Monday mornin'
My head all full of nothin'
I walked down to McDonald's
to get me a egg mcmuffin...."

and another verse~
"King David was smitten down to his socks when his eyes caught that Bathsheba fox......I just write 'em the way God gives em to me folks."

I still sing that one in the car. :)
