i suggest you read some of the threads in this forum, we've some here who're also new to faith and are having difficulties.
Mr Cheese has basically outlined the stuff though:

The most effective thing I've found is reading the bible and praying everyday. Good friends help too.

i'll be praying for you, feel free to post any thoughts and questions.
oh, and welcome to CF!!

Hey ya'll. I just registered on the boards a few minutes ago. I got saved a few years ago, but recently I feel as though I've really fallen away from Christ, and I was wondering if anyone could help me out at all. thanks.

Oh, how He wants your return!! Let me paint a picture for you, and see if good advice shows up in it! Let's say you've been married for only a short time. Having not had much time to really get to know your husband, you leave. Now, its time to return to your marriage. You want him...he wants you. Would you return to your relationship and right away begin to do his laundry, or clean the house? I think not! I think you would fall into his arms, and then the two of you would commune together, talking, expressing love, and rebuiding intimacy between you. The laundry and housework would come in time. Does this make sense? So somewhere in this painting is the advice of pray...worship...get to know your Savior. This is His desire as well.

Thank you every one for your advice. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I am trying to get back into church, but I have to get a ride with one of my friends b/c my parents won't go. I've also joined the Fellowship of Christian Students group at my school. I've been reading the Bible and praying a lot more also.

Hi, and welcome!
The best advice I can give you has already been given: pray a LOT!!! Spend a lot of time with God, and read the Bible every chance you get. for me, it doesn't always matter WHAT part of scripture I'm reading. Just plain reading it seems to focus me in on God.
