Anyone here have their own business?

Please give details.
hey chris, I have my own business. It's actually a work at home opportunity that i took.. so far, i like it, there are alot of incentives, and the products, which are household and body products and vitamins without cancer causing chemicals, are very easy to sell. the company is called melaleuca, and the products are cheaper than buying at walmart. I paid a special of 9.95 to join, and i advertise on msn, yahoo, and word of mouth. I really like it, cause the investment is small, and all you have to do is put in the work to refer people, and you'll be paid. Its honest work, and there are lots of Christians. I looked for almost 2 years to find a good site, and this is the one for me

If you want to see my site, email me and i'll send it to you ( i dont think i post it in the forum)

Take care and God Bless

currently working on business plan. Due next week!!!! gahhh!!
Witnessing in my business is difficult as I never have physical contact with my customers. I sell on ebay. I sell perfume, cologne, and other odds and ends until I can find a good wholesaler or dropshipper (that won't rob me silly.) I have a tax ID number, but it seems that all the wholesalers are asking for more purchases up front than I can manage. One wanted me to buy $5,000 of stuff that won't fit in my condo (aka the shipping department.)

Back to witnessing...The only thing that I can do is try to keep communication (emails) professional and in a manner that Christ would have me do.

If there is any advice I could really use it (both about witnessing and looking for a wholesaler.)

As of late, we seem to be running into a lot of posts we need to delete, due to self promotion violations, and folks including their website url's or contact info in a post. This is a violation of rules

3.1 You will not post any messages anywhere on this site that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, email address, business, MLM (Multi Level Marketing or pyramid schemes), activity, church, ministry, prophetic services or any other entities or services that you have an affiliation with (ie. no self-promotion).

and

3.3 You will not post any personal contact details anywhere in the forums or in the Chatbox. This includes email addresses, IM addresses, IP addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses.

For example. its fine for me to say "I'm a webmaster, and mod 3 of my own business forums in addition to my mod duties here at CF" It is against the rules for me to tell anyone here what they are, unless I am in a specific forum which has a rule that supercedes rule 3.1. The most obvious example is the webmaster forum, where people can discuss web technical issues, which would be near impossible to do, unless members could look at each others sites. However, even within that fora, ones own url's are only allowed in ones profile, and not in posts. The intent of the rules, is to keep CF free from any and all marketing or self promotion efforts.

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

I've done some independent contracting as a technical writer. Sort of a business. Made pretty good money. Currently doing some in-house writing for a company.

If you want to be profitable, you have to be able to take initiative, be aggressive, be disciplined, and follow through. It's easy to get lazy because you don't have a boss pressuring you and telling you what to do. You show up to work when you want (which can be good or bad). It brings a little more meaning to the scripture "if you don't work, you don't eat". Another mistake that I made was that I tried to be a 'do-it-yourselfer'. I should have hired more people, been a little less greedy, and tried to grow the business more. I'm learning that God hasn't gifted me in everything, and that I should rely on other skilled/talented people. It also definitely helps if you have people around you that support you.

I own a Paint and Wallcovering business. We also do stamped concrete, drywall, and water-proofing. I worked with a large Paint company for 22 years as the Sr. Project Manager, but the owner closed down and went into property management. The company had been in business since 1928. I obvious had a list of clients, so I went out on my own. I bought out as much as I could.

I work anywhere from 24-70 employees, based on work load. I mainly do large commercial work throughout the Southeast.

It turned out great. Have been doing it for 4 years now.
It's hard work, no doubt, but the rewards have been great. I thought I was in trouble when I lost a job I had worked all my life, but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened.

I've just started buying real estate, rehabbing it and selling/lease optioning/holding it. It is very stressful because these are no nickle and dime transactions! There's a lot of money at stake...a lot more than I can afford to lose.

We (mostly my husband) work really hard to provide people with nice, comfortable homes at very reasonable prices. So far, that has been the extent of our "ministry." But I think I might start placing a new Bible in each property, with some little prayer cards inside, as a gift for our buyers and tenants.
