He ODed on acid and went completely mad - what would you do?

oh, I know. but it was just a very sad state of affairs. I read a while back, that he even turned up at the studio when they were recording one of the later albums and just sat in the corner. no-one knew who it was at first. :(

It was the 'Shine On You Crazy Diamond' session around 1975...a song that had been written for him.

He had shaved off all his hair (eye brows included) and was massively obese.

Roger Waters and Rick Wright both burst into tears when they realised it was him.

Is there anybody out there? (pun intended) Didn't see a Pink Floyd thread in the first 6 pages, so here's one! For all you Floydians out there, what's your favorite song and/or album? My favorite album is definitely the Wall, with Pulse at a close second. As for song, that's definitely a bit tougher. Maybe Shine On, You Crazy Diamond, or Comfortably Numb, or any number of other songs. What do you guys think?
Although one's Pulse may quicken when a Crazy Diamond Shines On The Wall, my Money still rides on the Dark Side of the Moon.....

I don't have their early records, but I do have....

A Saucerful of Secrets
Meddle
Dark Side of the Moon
Wish You Were Here
Animals
The Wall
A Momentary Lapse of Reason
Pulse
Echoes

In my opinion you should most defininteley include Obscured By Clouds, Atom Heart Mother, Ummagumma, and More in your collection for the show. These are some of their best albums. Relics is pretty good too-- it has some otherwise unreleased songs like Biding My Time and the studio version of Careful With That Axe, Eugene. Works also has a gem called Embryo that wasn't released on their studio albums.

Well, I just got a bunch of money for my birthday, and I'm considering getting a new album. I've got Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall, and Pulse. I think I want either The Delicate Sound of Thunder, The Division Bell, or Echoes. What do you guys think?

Get Meddle is what I think.

Roger Waters' lyrics do things to me. It's like the guy knows how I feel inside better than I do.
i used to feel sort of the same way, until the wall came out, then everything from that point on i just wanted to tell him to "get over it already"
he is remarkable at creating moods with sound, but very very bitter too

Echoes so you can get a taste of the early stuff with Syd. ;)
