Hey, you guys think this could be a last days reference to attack/boomer submarines? Seems to fit the bill in a literal sense. And as for “dig into shoel” maybe this references shelters created for nuclear attacks? Not one of them to flee away it seems. Capitals will be smitten and shake from the attacks. Hmmm… when in time except for these days could this possibly be fulfilled in a literal sense?

Amos Chapter 9
1I saw the Lord standing beside the altar: and he said, Smite the capitals, that the thresholds may shake; and break them in pieces on the head of all of them; and I will slay the last of them with the sword: there shall not one of them flee away, and there shall not one of them escape. 2Though they dig into Sheol, thence shall my hand take them; and though they climb up to heaven, thence will I bring them down. 3And though they hide themselves in the top of Carmel, I will search and take them out thence; and though they be hid from my sight in the bottom of the sea, thence will I command the serpent, and it shall bite them. 4And though they go into captivity before their enemies, thence will I command the sword, and it shall slay them: and I will set mine eyes upon them for evil, and not for good.

(Vss 1-10) deal with the destruction of Israel, and regardless of where they would try to flee, God's judgment would find them. Israel's judgment was guaranteed through the sovereignty of the Lord (vs 5-6) and their destruction and captivity was literally fulfilled in the Assyrian and Babylonian captivities.

Hi. I don't believe that this is talking about submarines etc. This is just like a statement, you can't hide from God no matter where you go. Hey Durelen, I am in Bakersfield north of you. I go through Riverside all of the time to go to my kids in San Diego Co.
