  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    The Best Thing about Colorado

Yeah, when I lived in Denver back in the 80s, I recall a nasty hail storm followed by bright sunshine and the day ended picturesque. You'd have never known a terrible morning hailstorm whipped through by dusk. It's wild. And one time at work in the heart of Denver, 4 tornado funnel clouds...

    The Best Thing about Colorado

Best thing about Colorado is the clean air and mountain beauty. (I lived in Denver area 2 years and know that clean air in the city is hard to come by ) I am originally from the St Louis area. But I loved the mountains. They were gorgeous. And Colorado has the best rainbows in the sky...

    Missouri

Hey I am from St Charles MO, lived there for 21 years, moved to Denver for 2, came back home for 4 more years until I married, moved to Hazelwood (St Louis County), then moved back to unincorporated St Charles County last 3 years. I like St Charles, but everyone from St Louis County esp north...

Terri Schiavo: Latest Developments & Discussion (Part 1 of 2)

I'm a Catholic Christian and I was never for removing the feeding tube. I believe at the basic minimum, feeding and hydration are necessary, withholding either or both is equal to murder to me. We are not to starve animals, how come we can starve humans? It is not respectful of life to...

    What turned you into Catholicism?

JaneKaty: your parents chose for you to be baptized as Catholic, but as an adult you have free will to do whatever you want. With guidance from your parents and educators, hopefully, you will continue to stay with your Catholic faith. I look at things this way, the Catholic Church is one...

If you stop going to church?

Really good responses here, I think. The one that strikes me the most is "why would you not want to be with the Lord for one hour a week"? If you thought you could sneak into Heaven, after not going to Church for many many years, would you do it? Why? Why do you think you should deserve...

    Catholicism- too tough?

No, never much thought of things that way. I have thought that the Catholic Church was very tough to follow, but when you read more about free will and forgiveness, you soon don't worry so much about all the rules, you do the best you can, go to confession and read the Catechism. Everything is...

    What turned you into Catholicism?

This was a good post, Rishing Suns. I myself am a cradle Catholic revert. I left the active life a Caholicism and hoodwinked into secularism for a while. Over time I missed my prayer life and started reading everything I could about Judaism, Chuch History and finally Catholicism. I never...

    Catholic Religious Life?

Cecelia, as stated already here, pray and talk with a spiritual director. I believe many of the most well-known Saints we have became part of the religious at your age, so it is not unusual for you at 16 to be pulled quite hard in that direction, but a spiritual advisor could help you with your...

    Conversion

I will pray for your wife and her stomach problems. (I have also suffered with stomach ailments for years, some diagnosed and treated, others still suffering with) Here are some Patros Saints you might ask intercessions from: PATRON SAINT against stomach diseases or trouble Brice...

    Was Jesus a jew?

I think in modern day, a person can convert to Judaism (Reform or Liberal) without having blood descendship through the mother. Being Jewish is a religion and a culture, a way of life. There are many converts to Judaism from Christianity, and vice versa. Rosalind Moss from Catholic Answers...

    Was Jesus a jew?

I believe Jesus was a Hebrew Catholic after His Ressurection. He was born to a Jewish mother, making Him Jewish. He resurrected from the Dead and instituted the Catholic Church. He was Hebrew. But on the other hand, He is God, and God is not a religion. He is God. Religion leads us to...

    Conversion

Very very good book. I think as a Catholic, this helped me to understand what some Protestants must have gone through to convert to Catholicism. Though, Hahn is a very learned man, a professor and former minister. He probably read more books during his discernment period than most people do...
