  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Who's responsible, choices

Thanks and I appreciate your input!I agree God would have no one to hold Him accountable. Luckily He is goodness and love in it's embodiment, so there's no need to hold him accountable because all He does is good. I agree with all the thoughts you added. God Bless, Dave

    "Appropriate" love of God/Jesus

I'm reading this awesome book called Love and Respect by Dr. Eggerichs. It's been teaching me a lot about how the differences between men and women causes them to perceieve and desire things differently. I agree with the author that generally women desire and expereince emotional love at a...

    Who's responsible, choices

I'll give my opinion as long as you take it as such. I believe the Bible and the Holy Spirit teach regularly about personal responsibility and accountability. Let's talk about the difference first. Responsibility is the state or fact of being answerable or accountable of something within one's...

    Non-Denominational Christians/Churches and the Bible

It would depend on the church, as there are a wide variety of beliefs. Generally though I believe the printers left it out of the American Bibles because it was underused and still sold well. Most studies of the Septuagint contain some of the apochrapha, but I believe protestant bibles took on...

I want a very specific bible, please help me.

The only times I've had issues with pages being too thin, is when you use those sticker chapter tabs. I much prefer the Bibles with them already in or cutouts.

I want a very specific bible, please help me.

I use a HCSB, and it has a NRSV translation and the study version also includes, concordance, Apocrypha/Deuterocanonicals, a lot of historical references, maps and tablatures as well. Pretty reasonable too Amazon.com: The HarperCollins Study Bible: Fully Revised & Updated (9780060786854)...

    Is baptism required for salvation?

I just have a couple of comments, hope you can take them at face value and not read too much into it. 1- the dictionary is our final authority on what words mean, that's their purpose. While the Bible is my final authority for how to live my life and know God and Christ better, I don't go to...

Is the bible's portrayal of hell, literal?

@Tim, I believe what the intent was that the topic of destruction versus torment isn't covered by the Nicene, therefore not a topic that is considered core. I can appreciate that you consider it orthodox and core to your non-denominational faith. I also happen to agree with you. I don't think...

Should all christians believe in the 6 days creation?

I’m not taking anything you say personally as you too are also beloved of me and I know how great each of us love God our father and I deeply enjoy our discussions and fellowship. 1-Take a look at these verses Peter 3:8 and Psalms 90:4. The Bible uses non-literal metaphors and...

Should all christians believe in the 6 days creation?

I personally find this attitude abbhorent. I beleive in the whole Bible, and live it to the best of my ability every single day. I love God and am gratefull for everday I can pray for people with hearts like the one you show here. I won't go further and assume you're being intentionally that...

Should all christians believe in the 6 days creation?

I converse regularly with atheists, and they've yet to pose a convincing argument that my beliefs are irrational or illogical. The foundation is and should only be Jesus. I'm pretty sure Jesus agrees with that as well, but I can fish up the exact scripture if requested. When our foundation...

Should all christians believe in the 6 days creation?

I have no problems believing the Bible. I also have no problems believing science. They're about 2 completely different subject. I don't use the Bible to explain science or vice versa. It doesn't hurt my faith at all to believe in an old earth view or evolution. In fact it's quite remarkable how...

It is still NOT okay to eat pork.

All of them, before and since saved by faith in the cross. Those now look back to the cross, and those prior looked forward to the cross. Both believe in the Messiah and sovereignty of God. Perhaps we're not that different. God Bless, Dave
