  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Christian married to non-Christian advice

That is certainly a most difficult situation. Do you think he feels judged by you for drinking every night and feeling you use to live in sin? I know for a lot of people that causes them to refuse to speak honestly as they can't face that judgment head on. If so, perhaps you can modify your...

    The new Nihilism

All 4 points listed are yet another version of the same insidious identity politics lies which have ravaged and angered so many xyz cultural communities. Let us call them collectively grievance culture. Their design is simple: destroy society. Burn it to the ground. Abandon hope all ye who enter...

    I don't want kids

Of course it is fine to not have children, but I'd argue you are selling yourself short. Growing up in Nordic\Western culture you would have been exposed to a lot of anti-kid messaging. You've also said you're shy, which is often a sign you don't have strong boundaries where your...

    still hurt by parent's actions

Hey, I’ve been reading a few of your posts and it sounds like you’ve been pondering the problem of the suffering of God’s people. Where does punishment end and bearing our crosses begin? How do conditions like your bipolar fit? Or resentment to a neglectful parent(s)? This is a tough issue to...

    Hopeless

Feel free to DM if you have any questions or thoughts. I love to see people get into technology. No, with low energy I would recommend something more practical. What do you think your biggest goal would be over the next year?

    Why did America allow slavery?

Thanks for the thoughtful comments. I am still very much in the process of pondering the issue as a way of understanding the current political situation. At this stage I’ve thought, read, and listened to a lot of information and opinions on the subject but rarely got to discuss or write on it...

    Why did America allow slavery?

I get why you wrote "WHAT?". It read like gobbly-gook. You’re probably not the only one, it’s why I am thankful you responded. I am curious about something else. History as a narrative is harshly debated with a limited amount of objective facts. This is a discussion forum amongst people who...

    Why did America allow slavery?

Your post made me smile and thanks for reading some of it. A quick look over your past posts, I am guessing your pretty into the mainline democratic politics? Yeah, I am pretty much Satan, but also one of the dumbest Americans in America according to that lens. I'd invite you to put your ethics...

    Why did America allow slavery?

I’ve read a few of your posts now, and I am starting to observe your on a deep journey to do better. To craft yourself into a true man of God. I can’t wait to hear more about your findings. In this context, I take your deeper question with this thread to be: we’ve all heard it said systemic...

    Why did America allow slavery?

I am curious you came to that conclusion. Your saying if your friends parents legally owned(fed, clothed and housed) a person to take care of them as well as say another 10 to make their estate profitable. This fact alone would motivate you to confront them? I am truly curious how you see that...

    What do homeless people need?

In reading your thread you seem to have touched a nerve for many people with your question. I think that reflects a general ‘resentment’ in how most people feel about their own finances. I have had the privilege to have been truly poor, working poor, working in social/work homelessness for...

    Hopeless

Yeah, it almost always seems that way especially when starting up but really before people start regularly telling you otherwise. Without exception everyone new abandons a good number of projects before they get that first one they actually complete. Even then your overwhelmed at the idea you...

    Too old

You say you are unattractive because you are old, but I'd argue you can see examples everywhere of attractive people alone and unattractive people starting relationships, same with youth. So, I'm going to actually assume that is a lie and you believe something is wrong with you because you...

I think God is talking to me but I have OCD so I cant tell, im so stressed, how do I tell?

Sorry what is not it at all? You don't think you can explore or create? Are you creatively blocked? It sounds like fear/OCD, but let's explore. Why do you feel you might be called to let go of this dream? So what do you think will happen if all you are doing is temporal, fleeting and mortal? I...

    Why did America allow slavery?

I can certainly see why you'd want to contextualize my overly broad statement which could easily be taken as incorrect. I'd be referencing an earlier time-period and the cultural power of Hapsburg Spain as it relates to an American colonial experience from 1600-1776 and 'richest' being a poor...
