    Don't you think 'irrefutable evidence' and 'believe' are incompatible? One will never believe when there is such evidence, one just recognize, know, cannot deny, etc.The door to believing is closed in this case.

    Most older and learned Japanese can read the chinese characters, which Japan absorbed as their kanji.
