  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Southern Evangelical Seminary

I have looked into it a little, as well as The Masters Seminary, but it appears to me that SES is more trained in apologetics which I find really beneficial for todays society.

    Southern Evangelical Seminary

I'm considering going here instead of pursuing my graduate in Zoology. Does anyone know much about this school? I know the founder (Norman Geisler) and some of the people advertising it are quite solid guys, but I was wondering if anyone knew much about this school. I've read a bit on their web...

    alcohol

I knew some fairly prevalent people in my last church of people who drank without getting drunk (this was in a conservative church). I believe the more conservative ones esp. church leaders don't drink solely because they don't want to set a bad example. I mean, how would it look if you went to...

    An Alarming Trend

Honestly, I'm fine with it either way. I do not think homosexuality should be punished by death, but rape etc. is fine with me. However, I will say that these people need the Lord just as much as anyone else so if they get more time to live perhaps there is a reason for it. The only reason I'm...

Richard Dawkins: If Science Worked Like Religion

The most recent one I've read: The God Delusion.

Richard Dawkins: If Science Worked Like Religion

Sorry for any sarcasm/facetiousness in this post (if anyone read it) esp. if it offended you.

Richard Dawkins: If Science Worked Like Religion

Dawkins is funny. He has so many strawman and flawed arguments I'm surprised anyone takes him seriously, no matter how intelligent the press and people say he is.

What do you think of being a Christian Zoologist?

The thing is you're completely avoiding what the faith is in because in your example, faith is still evident in both of them. What you claim is evidence is based on a physical finite perception of the world often times containing biases (yes, this works both ways). Therefore, your faith is in...

What do you think of being a Christian Zoologist?

Sorry, I missed your post. Your reasoning is actually very flawed. It takes faith to believe the sky is objectively blue, it takes skepticism to doubt the sky is objectively blue. The same is consisting when believing it God. Skepticism is usually due to wanting empirical validity, yet you...

What do you think of being a Christian Zoologist?

Omniscience doesn't demean certainty. I.E. All Mortals Die + All Men Are Mortal = All Men Die The argument is logically sound and is what we consider truth. However, I can say that I have not observed all men to die, therefore I do not know for certain whether all men die. Yet probability is...

What do you think of being a Christian Zoologist?

I disagree that all religions conflict with science, apart from evolution where the Bible touches on science it agrees with it. I do agree however, that arguments like this ("bibles right science is wrong") are self-defeating when trying to debate. However, when it's personal reference if "x"...

What do you think of being a Christian Zoologist?

I haven't been "brought up" in this dogma as you call it. I converted from agnosticism approximately a year ago. The problem is that when you say you can't imagine anything change your mind is that in fact your being just as dogmatic. You're saying, "I will not change my beliefs on that it's...

What do you think of being a Christian Zoologist?

I prefer a variety of beliefs and I have a thread on a Christian forum in the Baptist section. I know that my beliefs within Christianity are in fact fallible but I also believe that there are certain truths in the Bible that are plain as day, Creation being one of them. The reason I consider...

Christianity & Evolution Are Compatible...A Reflection

Adam ate from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, not the tree of life. God hid the tree of life so that they would not live forever. Genesis 3:22-24 "Then the LORD God said, 'Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also...
