Do the Orthodox agree with this?

You were taught correctly. I attended a WELS school that didn't stick too much to the traditional Lutheran teachings and was taught something different. I obviously don't agree with what I wrote in that post a long time ago anymore. I am embarassed about posting that... make it go away! :sorry:

Do the Orthodox agree with this?

Hey thanks for the welcomeeveryone!! Were any of you former LCMSers a part of the '40 Days of Purpose Campaign' in your churches before you left? I ask because the church I currently attend is just finishing up with this little program. The Sunday before it started I went and viewed Rick...

Do the Orthodox agree with this?

For all of you who were Lutheran before conversion: what first made you interested in Orthodoxy?

Do the Orthodox agree with this?

The Orthodox reject the filioque because the filioque anchors the Holy Spirit to Jesus. Acceptance of the filioque would be a tacit admission that Jesus Christ is THE definitive revelation of Who the Triune God is. Remember, Orthodoxy is all about man's participation in the divine life of God...

Do the Orthodox agree with this?

Thank you for your quick responses. This didn't sound right at all when I first read it. I personally don't accept the filioque... I was reading an article about the Orthodox and their teachings and I came across this section dealing with the Nicene Creed. My question: Is this statement true? Is that truly why the Orthodox reject the filioque? The Orthodox reject the filioque because the filioque anchors the Holy Spirit...

How would you feel if a friend bought a million dollar home...

I think as long as he or she is a God-fearing person and is not too materialistic that it is fine. It would be inspirational to see a friend accomplish so much while still remaining true to his or her faith.

    What synod are you?

The Bible. Without the Bible we would not know the significance of liturgy.

    What synod are you?

This is very true. In all reality, as much as I don't want to admit it, there is division in the LCMS as well. No matter how small or insignificant some issues may be, the fact that they even exist gets blown way out of proportion. Further splits are definitely not the answer, I agree. I think...

Which sports do you hate or just don't like?

What about NASCAR? You go around in circles for hours on end at break-neck speeds. I would rather experience the pains of childbirth.

    What synod are you?

I just want to say I'm sorry to anyone I may have hurt with my previous posts. I am a very opinionated person... as you can see :P . I should have kept my opinions to myself so as to not make anyone feel badly. I hope you can all forgive me. :prayer:
