  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Struggles with pornography and alcohol, and mental illness

I suffer from incredibly debilitating mental illness. I have what are called "intrusive thoughts", that is blasphemous, self harming, or otherwise generally disturbing thoughts that never go away. I feel very alone and trapped in this, it has made me ill and started to affect my life to a point...

Discussion about the Nature of Sin and frustration

So, I am a Christian, (although I am very bad at it). I struggle with Lust (porn and such) as well as drinking, lying and other vices. While I know these things will not stop God from loving me, according to the Bible, I still don't want to do them. I wish I could just promise God I will never...

    When Reading the Bible

This is good as long as when you read, be sure to read in context so that you understand . It is wonderful that you trust the words of our savior. Also remember that the Lord will speak you in non-scriptural ways as well. I find God most frequently speaks to me through other people. Just keep an...

    Evangelical Christianity is depressing

Keep in mind, my friend, that it is not "Christianity" that should or should not depress you. Christians will always let you down. Christianity is not where your faith lies, Jesus is where your faith lies. Do not let the actions and words of Christians turn you away from the true Christ who has...

What is the "abundant life" that Jesus gives?

It is extremely important to understand when one reads these texts, what is meant by the original language in which the text was written. The Greek word used for "life" here, is the word ζωὴ (zōē), as opposed to ψυχὴ (psychē), breath/soul or βιός (biōs), physical, biological life. Zoe...

I feel like I pushed away Jesus

My friend, there is something you need to understand about "repentance". Repentance is not a change of behavior. It is a change of heart. Jesus was not interested in removing the thorns from the thorn bush, he was interested in removing the bush entirely and planting a new bush there in its...

{MOVED} Dealing with loneliness as a Christian

Well, then I must ask, how do you deal with it? It makes it difficult for me to go about the day to day. It has made relational intimacy difficult for me, for example, because I find it hard to meet people with the same level of thought about it as myself. It is also incredible frustrating...

{MOVED} Dealing with loneliness as a Christian

It is like this. If Christianity is true, which I think it is, then anything we pursue is ultimately utterly meaningless in the eternal sense. People (even Christians) fret about their marriages, cars, jobs, pet, children, hobbies, vacations, whether their neighbor has more than them, politics...

{MOVED} Dealing with loneliness as a Christian

Hi, I have been a Christian for many years, because I think it is true. As I have gained a deeper knowledge and appreciation and understanding of God's undying love for us, I have felt slowly more and more "detached" from this world. The problems and worries of people's lives mean less and less...
