Singles 30s who want to get married come in

First time in the 30s section, but why not. 38, originally from Montana and living in Japan and working as a teacher. Am very seriously thinking about coming back (logistics and job are a huge concern for me in this area) to the US. I've always been family oriented and get along well with...

    New 'Fun' thread

True story today: Working with little kids today on I/You/He/She. When they talked about themselves, they use I. When they talk about other students, they use he/she. And when they talk to me, they use you. Simple right? Except half of them call me she. And bacon chocolate. Sounds interesting...

    Conversion and Chrismation names

Ok, all this chant and gun talking has got ikutosemo stuck in my head. I am use to Japanese chant and I don't even know what ikutosemo is in English. As for guns, my grandpa was a gunsmith. If I was stateside, I'd go with a revolver. Just traditional like that ;) My name was chosen even before...

Christ is born! And long time no speak

In a way this is nice to watch the conversation. Several things have popped up that is interesting for me. Humorously, I tried to be a Christian in a Catholic school and that upset some of the teachers. When we talk about indoctrination, Japan is basically an assembly line education system. You...

Christ is born! And long time no speak

Again, I am so far out of the loop, I don't know. I look on linkin (among others) trying to find jobs, but the information is always vague. The logistics of moving back to the US is daunting to say the least. Adding in job hunting and it is downright scary.

Christ is born! And long time no speak

As you say it is an idea. Any suggestions for how I can go about applying and where? @rusmeister ; It would change my visa status greatly. Spousal visas are much more workable. However, given that I haven't been in a relationship in over 6 years, I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

Christ is born! And long time no speak

Sorry this has taken so long to reply to. It sort of hit a hard nerve. Like I said, that was the short short version. It gets a lot worse with the short version and the long version is really long. I have been thinking about coming back. As I may face deportation in July, it's sort of mandatory...

Christ is born! And long time no speak

A little over two and a half years ago, I switched jobs to one full time elementary school. My prior job had burned me out something terrible. Had to make a move for my new job. After a month and a half, I discovered that the first place had some structural issues and construction was needed. So...

Christ is born! And long time no speak

4 moves in 11 months. Two job losses and a drop to 1/4 of my prior income. Tax, insurance, pension issues as well as nearly being deported and lots of time at different government agencies and lawyers due to one black contract. That sounds like a cake walk to me. Now trying to eat three meals...

Christ is born! And long time no speak

Christ is born! Besides one of the stickies, I doubt I am remembered by many. Times have gotten harder and harder. Throughout my times only one thing has remained constant, my trials to follow Christ. So with this lonely Christmas upon me, I hope you will have me back here in TAW and I pray...

Couple fined for declining same-sex wedding on their farm

Mod Hat On: A reminder to not flame other members of this forum. This thread is a hot topic issue and it is easy to take offense or perceived offense to what others have said.

    Republican Party on the Decline?

Mod Hat On: Starting on page 21, I went through and did a thread clean up. We had swearing, off-topic, flaming, goading and other fun things. Several posts that were good had to go because they wouldn't make sense without the prior post. I did my best to clean up and get this thread back on...

Michael Dunn found guilty of 1st-degree murder in loud-music trial

Mod Hat On Dunn starts with a D and Zimmerman starts with a Z. Please stay with D and Dunn and not skip to the end of the alphabet to Zimmerman. Thread has been cleaned for off topic posts about Zimmerman.

    Deism

Mod Hat On Just a friendly reminder to check the Statement of Purpose. While this thread is going very well over all, it can be easy to cross the line on accident.
