  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How much should you spend on an engagement ring?

Almost exactly like my girlfriend. Confuses me up one side and down the other, but she likes the cheap rings.

    Where are you attending?

    Dallas Christian College.

    GF from a different religion

Okay, I have a short answer that you won't like. Break it off and focus on your priorities first. What is more important to you: your relationship with her or her relationship with Christ? I'm not saying it's impossible for you to lead her to Christ, but the odds are against you.

How far is too far if engaged?

I agree. There isn't a list of things that suddenly become "okay" once you are engaged. As jen said, you aren't married and that's what matters now. Stick it out and know you won't regret waiting in the end. Do you want your wedding night to be special or typical?

    How far is too far?

If you ever have to come to CF and ask if you've gone too far, you probably have. Just a little rule of thumb. Don't base things on right and wrong, be wise, it will get you farther and you'll never have to worry about making the right decision, because the wiser one is always the best.

What did you and your S.O. do on Valentines Day?

Nice dinner at Johnny Carino's, cheesecake at Barne's and Noble's Cafe, and then ice skating at the Dallas Galleria. Good times. :)

    Does anyone think...

The best way to avoid these problems is to simply take what others say and see if the bible agrees. A lot of things people say on these boards sound pretty and even very logical, but sometimes the bible has a different view. It's not that they are necessarily wrong, it's just that the bible is...

    I'm curious....

I don't think God chooses, I think he knows. There is a difference. Where is the free will if God made the decision? Yeah, he is all-powerful but he still gives us the ability to do things ourselves.
