these threads can just end up confusing someone? Do you think maybe at times, since there are so many different opinions on certain issues, it can just end up confusing someone further? I think sometimes that might happen. I guess it's important to emphasize that all we can do is offer advice and prayer, we can't solve someone's problems or save them, only Christ can. Just a side note. Happy day!

Valid point. But that's going to happen whether someone comes to a message board or not. Many people seek out the advice that they've already decided on. However, many are also swayed by what others say. I guess we just have to choose our words carefully.

You make a good point! But, you could also approach it from the opposite view. Because you have so many different denominations, backgrounds, ages, races, and countries represented in one place, when all these people come to agreement on a certain issue, thats very powerful. I know that doesn't happen very often, and I'm not advocating popular opinion or anything, but if a lot of people are giving the same advice on a topic (and its Biblically grounded), thats gotta mean something! Just a thought

The best way to avoid these problems is to simply take what others say and see if the bible agrees. A lot of things people say on these boards sound pretty and even very logical, but sometimes the bible has a different view. It's not that they are necessarily wrong, it's just that the bible is better.

It takes spiritual discernment...and all we have to do is ask for it in prayer
