  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    Finish College or drop out.

Get the higher degree. That degree will help you in the long run and you will be less likely to continue with school if you get a job. Many people are not comfortable going back to school after they have worked a while. In the long run, you will be better off.

    Questions to ask colleges

    1. Depending on what you are looking at accreditation 2. About the major that you are interested in. Meet the Dept Head as well as other faculty related to your major. A good Dept Head/Adviser will make or break a program. 3. Cost and financial aid. 4. What graduates do after that get done...

for those who are studying philosophy

I'm attending SES. I've heard good things about Biola's MA in philosophy program. In fact, JP Moreland has on record that his motivation for the MA in Philosophy program was to train a lot of Christian philosophers to enter the PhD world as well as enter the community colleges and train...

Are there any colleges that teach creation apologetics?

The purpose of college was never to get a good job. Unfortunately, that is a hang up of pragmatic philosophy. The purpose of the university was to study truth in areas of life. Creationism may be something to study, but it is a narrow subject. Again, go study something that relates to creation...

Are there any colleges that teach creation apologetics?

Instead of looking at just creation science look at science in and of itself and look for areas that would demonstrate creation or design or whatever your motif may be.

    My thoughts on atheism

Maynard, You must feel that you can use logic to convince me not to use those arguments. Would you like to give a reason why your logic use to persuade me not to use logic is superior? Or perhaps you just feel that is a personal opinion, but if that's the case, why should I believe you.

    Lectio Divina

I'm probably too analytical to practice this. However, I get a great sense of worship in my studies. In fact, I've never experienced a greater sense of worship than that of study. Going to a singing worship service is not nearly as great as studying, God's Word and God's Creation.

    Grad school

And why should I allow the hype of Rick Warren's Purpose driven church concept to determine my choice of college? ;) I don't mean any offense here, but sometimes the hype of popular Christianity doesn't always equate to a great education.

    Grad school

Just because a school is traditional doesn't necessarily mean that it is bad. Perhaps you are a product of the modern culture that tradition church/school/religion/etc is not cool/hip/trendy. I personally think there is a great value to traditional education, even if it doesn't meet in a...

    Grad school

Wheaton is a good school. I would have considered going there but I had too much other stuff going on. I'm currently attending Southern Evangelical Seminary for my MA in philosophy and love it. They have one of the best apologetic programs in the nation, if he is leaning towards that...

    Teaching Children about Salvation.

I use wordless books to teach salvation, you could probably google that. It is easy and works well for kids of all ages. It was also taught to me VERY early on, so I've been doing it for a while. I do notice that most kids in our Children's Ministry have no clue what it takes to be saved. Many...

    Children's Church

Our church is a little bit different. We do a children's Sunday school during the church service. When I think of Children's Church, I think of a separate service for kids. Our classes, are for ages 2 years old - 6th grade. The kids get checked it before church and checked out after church is...
