Grad school

My husband is planning on going to grad school for Biblical/Theological studies. He doesn't want to go to a really traditional or secular school. He's looking a Wheaton, Clairemont (sp?), and Asbury but ultimately he does not know. Are there any schools that you guys could recomend?

Wheaton is a good school. I would have considered going there but I had too much other stuff going on.

I'm currently attending Southern Evangelical Seminary for my MA in philosophy and love it. They have one of the best apologetic programs in the nation, if he is leaning towards that.

Schools that I would consider good. Good being defined as a lot of people that seem to have a good education have attended.

Just because a school is traditional doesn't necessarily mean that it is bad. Perhaps you are a product of the modern culture that tradition church/school/religion/etc is not cool/hip/trendy. I personally think there is a great value to traditional education, even if it doesn't meet in a traditional school.

What's the reason he's going to grad school? If he is looking to get a PhD later on, then his choice of school might be different than if he were just intending to learn for the sake of learning or for some other reason. If he's planning to get his PhD from an ATS accredited school, two notes:
- All PhD programs require three years of ministry work after earning his MDiv
- All PhD programs require at least one modern language in addition to English (ex. French, German ...) as well as one ancient language (ie. Greek or Hebrew) and some require several languages.
An exception is SES's PhD program, although this is probably the reason SES is an ATS affiliated, not ATS accredited. Still a good school.

Wheaton and Asbury are both good schools, don't know for sure re Clairemont but it's ATS accredited so it's probably fine too. I suppose I'll plug Tyndale since that's where I'll be graduating from soon: www.tyndale.ca but it's in Canada so that may rule it out from the outset

Rockbrige Seminary, it's completely online and based on Rick Warren's Purpose Driven Church concept. Planning on attending it myself soon.

And why should I allow the hype of Rick Warren's Purpose driven church concept to determine my choice of college? I don't mean any offense here, but sometimes the hype of popular Christianity doesn't always equate to a great education.
