NAD leaving GC? SDA denomination facing schism?

Actually, decentralized is not what happened. The vote was not for/against WO. It was a new hierarchical structure created by GC employees to determine everything a pastor can say/believe. That a compliance committee not appointed or elected by members would be watching, spying, judging...

I esteem the Scriptures as ultimete aurhority. EGW writings do not trump the Bible. Paul wrote: Romans 14:2-3 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him...

"We know meat and animal products are acidic. Cancer cells and diseases feed on acidic blood" That is scientific bogus. Oranges, tomatoes and most fruit are more acidic than meat/poultry. Eating acidic food doesn't make human blood acidic. Blood PH is maintained in a very narrow range...

NAD leaving GC? SDA denomination facing schism?

You are fairly ignorant about Southern Baptists. From their own website: "Among doctrines Southern Baptists emphasize is the doctrine of local church autonomy. Article VI of the Southern Baptist Convention’s confession of faithclearly states, “A New Testament church of the Lord Jesus Christ is...

Sabbath was given to Israel and not observed by early Christians

"But you are engaged in a bit of "creative writing" when you claim Peter was "first a Jew and then a Christian" as if Peter thought that Jewish concerns deleted or subverted the Gospel." That is a ridiculous interpretation of what I wrote. I was speaking in order of time. Peter was a Jew...

My Struggles with belief in inspiration of EGW

News to me. Veganism didn't exist in EGW's day. I was raised lacto-ova vegetarian, the norm for SDA Church back then. Was surprised when my sister mentioned that her son and wife were raising her grandson vegan. Why? Because that is the newest SDA view on diet. Poor Jonathan (age 10) looks...

NAD leaving GC? SDA denomination facing schism?

In the discussion among GC world leaders, several said to those of NAD, "if you don't agree, then just leave GC." They weren't telling individuals to leave. They were telling NAD to leave GC. Interesting that you see leaders of church as paid employees rather than shepherds of His people...

My Struggles with belief in inspiration of EGW

The whole doctrine of Sanctification as taught by SDAs is a quilt based on a couple scriptures, totally ignoring most of what is written in NT by Paul and other Apostles. We are saved by Grace except once we are sanctified we have no need for Grace because we are perfect.

My Struggles with belief in inspiration of EGW

SDA's have always been "quilters of scripture." Pick a scripture here and another there and sew them together to prove a doctrine. But few even realize the discontinuity and contextual differences of that style of doctrinal proof. Just like a poster on question of Sabbath and 10 commandments...

Sabbath was given to Israel and not observed by early Christians

I believe there is a difference between Hebrew and Christianity. God made covenants with Abraham, Isaac and Israel. This "chosen people" were to be "the light to the pagan world", the vehicle through which the mercy and goodness of God would be demonstrated. The promised Messiah was to come...

My Struggles with belief in inspiration of EGW

I grew up SDA and was thoroughly indocrinated in SDA beliefs/culture from a baby through college. As an adult I have struggled with what I was taught, that "spirit of prophecy" means EGW and nothing else. I struggle with the concept that truth can start out as error. It started when I learned...

Sabbath was given to Israel and not observed by early Christians

Peter was first a Jew and then a Christian when it comes to religion. Peter believed the gospel was meant for the Jews, objecting to preaching to Gentiles (ignoring Christ's gospel commission to go to all the world; every nation, tongue and people). He was given a vision to clear up his...

Sabbath was given to Israel and not observed by early Christians

Exodus 34 is quite different from other two versions. Yet God told Moses to "hew two tables of stone like unto the first: and I will write upon these tables the words that were in the first tables, which thou brakest." Exodus 34 was supposed to be the same words as given on first tablets of...
