  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Well, our wedding was finally on Saturday- and while things continued to fall apart all the up to 10am Saturday morning, after 12 on Saturday, everything went absolutely perfectly. So. Now I am Mrs. Moore. And I am incredibly happy!! ^_^

    Romantic gift?

Or something else I would love.... a night with the tv and computer off. Just the two of us, maybe sit on the patio and look at the stars, or read a book to each other, or play a board game, or just cuddle and talk. That would be absolutely beautiful.. Time together, no distractions (be...

    Romantic gift?

The most romantic thing my fiance ever gave me was a cd he made of all these romantic songs that make him think of me. He always tells me he loves me, but that's where it stops... not that I am special to him or that he thinks I'm beautiful, or anything. And I always question him about it...

    Need some advice

I would say this... Let her know completely that you still care about her and are willing to be there for her no matter what she decides, no matter how long that decision takes. And let her know that if she decides you, that you will love her and her child 100%. But tell her that you...

    Recorded Music in Weddings EMERGENCY

On the 'converting for the right reasons'. See, the parish I became a member of .. well our old priest anyway .. preached salvation by the Blood alone, and that baptism is an outward sign of inward conversion. And any church that teaches this, I feel is a solid church. Now I fully...

    Recorded Music in Weddings EMERGENCY

On another note, at pre-Cana this morning they included a flyer that talked about ceremony planning and had a panel with tips for music from the diocese. NOWHERE did it say that live music was a requirement. NOT ONCE.

    Recorded Music in Weddings EMERGENCY

He is as frustrated as I am. But he is not a musician. So even though he is frustrated at the situation and frustrated for me, he doesn't have the deep tie to the music as I do. And as far as not having music, well, I will not have a wedding before I don't have my music. Like I said above...

    Recorded Music in Weddings EMERGENCY

Elizabeth, Yeah I know it was the 5-year shuffle, because 31 other priests were moved too. And I just found out yesterday (I think it was only announced yesterday) that the Pope accepted the guys resignation (Bishop Timlin) and we are getting a new one. Or got, I guess.. one of the...

nyj... Yeah. I plan to contact him about it, at least to see why he wasn't up front with us if this is really the non-negotiable case. We have preCana tomorrow and I am not sure if afterwards we are meeting with my maid of honor. If not, we might just go to the Saturday Mass at our old...

    Recorded Music in Weddings EMERGENCY

No, it couldn't the music for the reception is entirely different.. for dinner its a mix of jazz music (garland, fitzgerald and sinatra mostly, with some como, carter, vaughn and so on), broadway, celtic, and non-danceable rock/country soungs. Are you familiar with the pieces I mentioned? The...

    Courting

I agree with Cammie. In my friend Darra's church though, they can be thrown out the church for actual 'dating'. They have to go by the 'courting' I explained above. A little too extreme for my taste..... But she says she agrees with the concepts, so... whatever floats her boat I guess.

The bells.. I didn't even think of bringing that up as a discrepancy!!! (the bells the bells..I feel like Quasimodo...) The thing with having the wedding elsewhere would be fine with me.. and we would do that too... except all the invitations and directions are already printed to a tune of...

    Recorded Music in Weddings EMERGENCY

We are going to look into that... but I was in our chamber choir so I know even for 45 minutes of music they charge $200.. let alone 3 hours with the prelude, ceremony and postlude. And see, all the music that is my must have stuff (Vivaldis' 4 Seasons, Canon in D, Joy of Mans Desiring) are NOT...

    Courting

My friend's family believes in courting. And what it is, in their church, is this.... When a young man has the intent to get to know and marry a woman, he talks to her father. Never to her, only to her father. He gets to know her dad and talk to him and endear himself to him. Then he asks...
