  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The most romantic thing my fiance ever gave me was a cd he made of all these romantic songs that make him think of me.

He always tells me he loves me, but that's where it stops... not that I am special to him or that he thinks I'm beautiful, or anything. And I always question him about it.

So for Valentines day not this year, but last, he made up the cd and made a card with it that explained that the songs said all the things he has always wanted to, but can never find the words to get across.

I cried the whole time I listened to it.. which was like, 1h30m long.

Definitely romantic!! :) Because he put thought into it, he took the time to do it, and he put some of himself into it.

The CD thing would work for me too

Also, a romantic dinner that you prepare. Not anything fancy. Once my husband cooked us spaghetti and we ate it by candlelight.

Also, a day off would be great too...like if he took the kid and was out all day and left me with a day alone. Or even better, if he gave me a day with my son and he did all the housework, ran all the errands, then told me I was pretty and gave me a backrub.

Or something else I would love.... a night with the tv and computer off.

Just the two of us, maybe sit on the patio and look at the stars, or read a book to each other, or play a board game, or just cuddle and talk.

That would be absolutely beautiful.. Time together, no distractions (be it man-made or like, being too sleepy to stay awake).

That can be romantic too!! (Just planning the time to spend focused on each other!)

I would agree that either a CD or a love letter/poem is the most romantic thing a guy could give you. It shows that he really put thought into and that it was just for you. Very personal.

Just a side note, my parents went to a wedding where the bride and groom gave out CD's of their favorite love songs. I thought it was a great idea and something that you can really use.

I bought my wife a garden weasel, 'cause she loves to work in her garden. I bought her something to aid her in pursuing her love.

She also loves it when I help with the laundry, dishes, bathing the children, getting kids ready for SS, etc.

I've always wanted to buy her stuff, but she wants my time and effort. Imagine that! Women. Who knew?

Peace.

The most romantic thing my wife could do for me is to get rid of the kids on a night the Red Wings are playing on ESPN, buy chips, drinks and stuff, pull the chairs up to the tv and sit down and watch the game with me. Oh, and set up the whole thing without my knowledge.

Are you reading this hon'? :D

BTW, the Wings open their season Thursday night on ESPN!!!

Peace.

Cook for her while chatting & being funny, chicken marsala & red wine, eat the candle lit dinner in front of a roaring fire place on a cold night in a quiet wooded area. After eating express your undying love by reciting Andrew Marvell's "To his coy mistress" poem while looking deeply into her eyes. Touch her cheek softly and cup her head and neck with your left hand while firmly holding her waist with your right hand. Lean in to her neck and kiss up to her ear...

Gotta stop there or a mod's gonna bust me.

One thing my husband did when we first got married..

I came home and our song was playing.. there was a piece of paper on the table with a riddle as to where to find the next piece of paper, but on each one he wrote something he loved about me.. simple things- for example~ I have very small ears- they are the same size as my 7 year old daughter- and he loves that, so he wrote about it.. (His riddle was something like, "I am in the dark with all my friends, crowded as can be, and even with a hundred eyes, nothing can we see" ~ his next note was in the potato bin :) )

With each letter I read, I was more excited and could not wait to find the last one.. the chase ended in my closet, where he had bought me a beautiful dress to take me out ballroom dancing for the evening. It was most likely the best date we ever had together..
