  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

    LOTR personality tests

Test one says I'm Gandalf, Test two says I'm Legolas Greenleaf. I don't know who either of these characters are (never watched LOTR!) so...could be like me, could not be. ;)

What movie do you know the most dialogue/quotes from?

Without a doubt, The Phantom of the Opera. I have the whole movie memorized! My husband got me the soundtrack for Christmas, I think he's regretting it now. I go around the house and randomly start singing from the movie all the time. :sorry:

"Your responses" to: Why twentysomethings drop out of church.

For me, it was #11, 14, and 15.

    So...who "wears the pants?"

I don't think either of us "wear the pants," so to speak. My husband does not get final say on everything, neither do I. When we disagree on something, we discuss it and come to a mutual conclusion. He's never done anything like "I'm the man, you're the woman, submit to me." He knows he...

    Saw Phantom of the Opera

I haven't seen it yet, but I can't wait to see it! I'm thinking about trying to convince my husband to drive up to Cleveland with me to see it. It's a 3 hour trip one way...but I don't know if I can wait until the end of January for it to hit our town! ^_^ The soundtrack is beautiful. I...

    Shrek 1 or 2?

Shrek 2 is a little bit better than Shrek 1 because of Puss in Boots. I love that cat! "Pray for mercy from Puss...in boots!"

Mom sues Wal-Mart over daughter's suicide

After reading the whole article, I think it's absolutely ridiculous. Her parents argued that Wal-mart should have checked her pharmacy records before they sold her a gun. It's illegal to do so, thanks to a 1996 federal law. Her parents argued that Wal-mart should have checked her mental...

    Prejudiced against Men...

Yes, and 91% of murderers are men. (thanks FBI, "Crime of the United States Statistics," copyright 1996!)

    dreaming of kissing an atheist

It's probably just a meaningless dream. Most dreams are meaningless, rather random things. Thank goodness. I'd hate to see what kind of meaning would be attached to some of my dreams! I dreamed last night that I was an elephant living in Canada and someone was trying to poach my ivory...ha...

    HOw many left?

Hmmm, nice broad generalization. Because SOME liberals (and a small minority of them) threatened to leave if Bush was re-elected, and they didn't, you think ALL liberals are liars? Okay, let's keep that generalization going in different contexts and see what we end up with. I know some...

    UCC Advertisment

I think this ad will probably be considered just as controversial as the last, if not more so. Not only is it now obvious that the two women represent a lesbian couple, but it actually dares to say that God accepts ALL people (not just WASP&S).

    UCC Advertisment

We have a new commercial coming out - can't wait to see it on TV! It's on http://www.stillspeaking.org right now, "All the People" (it should play as soon as you hit the site). I like this commercial better than the first one, actually!

    Who Married Their First Love?

My husband is my first love, and I am his first love. He was my first everything, actually...first kiss, first date, first holding hands, well you get the picture. I was his first everything, too. It was really strange in a very good way. It was like we were set up on different shelves, just...

starting to get tough for christian couples

I get picked on from both sides... It takes a lot for me to break down barriers with non-Christians because I am immediately suspect for being a Christian. Many of the non-Christians or former Christians I run into have had very bad experiences with Christians, so I have to convince them that...

Explain different types of christian branches...

Well, I don't know much about most denominations, but if you google each branch separately, you will usually be able to find a statement of faith to find out what they believe. I am United Church of Christ (different from Church of Christ ;) ) and before that I was Episcopalian, so those are...
