  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Are Protestants dead?

This calls for discernment. We would be wise to assume OP’s intention was pure, sincere and honest, unless proven otherwise.

Well I can't speak for you, Albion, however it seems critical discernment is needed. May I know where you got this idea from. I'd like to give you the benefit of the doubt here and assume your good name and intention so as to avoid rashly judging you, especially in case if what you say is...

    Catholic way

Gladly, although I kindly request we carry it back-and-forth PM conversation. It is easier and more leisurely to carry on so as not to be boggled down by other people's converations and replies within the topic discussion. Let me know what you think. I also tend to reply less frequently. I don't...

However once you are aware of the claims of the Catholic Church, it becomes sin to resist the Holy Spirit whom is leading you into full communion with the Catholic Church as a Catholic Christian. This would also be a sin of pride I'd say.

St. Joseph's intercession is said to be never known to fail. I suppose I'll pray for your conversion now, OP, to the Catholic faith.

Catholic vs. Protestant – why is there so much animosity?"

Jesus Christ is a God-man, so therefore I truly follow a man-made tradition. What's the big deal?

Catholic vs. Protestant – why is there so much animosity?"

Battle against what is called the three-fold conspicupance: The flesh, the world and the Devil. There is excellent Catholic material based on the Science Of The Saints that deals with this exact subject :) St. Ignatius, St. Teressa of Avila and Saint John of the Cross, St. Francis De Sales are...

Catholic vs. Protestant – why is there so much animosity?"

Have you read the daily missal? Mine ends on this note: "When we pray, the voice of the heart must be heard more than that proceeding from the mouth." - St. Bonaventure

Show me where the Catholic Church teaches that Mary is the Holy Spirit?

Applying common literary rules to Matthew 26:26 and John 6:51

Saint Irenaeus(who lived before the canon of the New Testament was established which you cannot discern using only The Bible) teaches that the bread and wine are really the Lord’s body and blood. His witness is, indeed, all the more impressive because he produces it quite incidentally while...

Applying common literary rules to Matthew 26:26 and John 6:51

God created the heavens and the earth. He changed water into wine. He rose from the dead. Surely you are not saying God's power is limited in what he can do, are you?

You mean the Protestant Revolt (The Reformation was the Council Of Trent).

If men are justified by faith alone (Sola Fide)...?

My first question is are you EVEN interested in the claims of the Catholic Church on the matter or will you just dismiss anything that differs from your view? Here are two links that you may find helpful on the subject of Purgatory. Purgatory | Catholic Answers Is Purgatory in the Bible? |...

If men are justified by faith alone (Sola Fide)...?

This should be worth looking at on Catholics and Lutherans making a joint statement on justification: Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification
