  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Could raising the minimum wage prevent thousands of suicides?

The rich will most certainly find ways to cheat their taxes or pass off their loss of income off onto the poor by cutting jobs. Plus, it's the rich that own the government. Why would they impose more taxes on themselves when they could place more taxes on the very people whose labor they make...

"Fake it 'til you make it?"

Just some personal experience. If I ever tell someone that I'm not okay I get one of two responses (unless they are super close to me): 1) "Oh, I'm sorry. Just have more faith and trust God more and your depression and anxiety will lift! You just gotta put your trust in God!" - completely...

Is it true that it's only God who cares for us as individuals?

Human love is fundamentally different than God's love because we are two different kinds of beings. So it makes sense that how we love is not and never will be the same as how God loves. That being said, I don't think God loves and cares about us as individuals insofar as caring about what we...

    big question

I don't have any tattoos myself but I have friends who do, some of whom are Christian. One friend has a bible verse on her wrist to remind her of God's love and to comfort her when she's feeling down. Another has a cross tattoo. Some Christians believe any tattoo is sinful and some do not. You...

is it a sin to drink energetic drinks?

Most energy drinks (Redbull, Monster, Rockstar, Nos, to name just a few). When consumed on occasion, they may be fine for most people. But drinking them every day isn't good. People have been hospitalized for drinking them too often. Not only do they have a lot of caffeine in them but they are...

is it a sin to drink energetic drinks?

You can go on and on and on, back and forth a hundred times, over whether drinking energy drinks is a sin (just as people have for years over alcohol, coffee, etc) but by the time you come to any conclusion, your daily consumption of energy drinks may take such a toll on your health that you'll...

is it a sin to drink energetic drinks?

I wouldn't be so much concerned as to whether it is a sin or not and more concerned over whether drinking energy drinks every day does a lot of damage to your health.

Are we to love every single person in the world?

I think the definition of what love is can get skewed. But in this instance, I think it means to wish the best for everyone regardless of religion, faith, lifestyle, etc and to treat them as you would want to be treated yourself. Doesn't necessarily mean you have to personally like every single...

Is there any reliable information on the formation of the Holy Bible?

That's a really good start! Thank you!

Is there any reliable information on the formation of the Holy Bible?

Which is why I asked for "information" and not "one source" or "one book". Theological universities are out of my reach where I live and the libraries we have here are quite small and don't have what I'm looking for. A lot of the stuff I find online is written in a biased way that detracts from...

Is there any reliable information on the formation of the Holy Bible?

It is completely possible to study history in an unbiased way. This is for academic purposes after all.

Is there any reliable information on the formation of the Holy Bible?

As I understand it, early Christians didn't have a Bible with NT writings to study from (understandable considering that that is the time period in which the NT was written). I've been doing a bit of digging for information and understand that the Bible as we know it today was compiled...

    An unusual grief.

Whatever you're feeling, no matter how strange or complicated, is perfectly valid and not at all stupid. Take all the time you need to process your emotions and don't feel guilty for feeling the way you do. Sometimes I feel like, no matter how poorly a parent treats their child, that filial...
