  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does God want atheists and other non-believers to believe he exists?

In answer to your OP, the following from The Pensees, should be sufficient. “It is, then, true that everything teaches man his condition, but he must understand this well. For it is not true that all reveals God, and it is not true that all conceals God. But it is at the same time true...

    Changing the Date of Easter

Not sure what point you are trying to get to. Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is an arbitrary date just as the celebration of His birth (Christmas is) is. So it is best to select the one that your particular denominational belief system...

If we didn't have the Bible...

Not if God decided to use tradition and word of mouth instead of the written Word!

If we didn't have the Bible...

The Christian account would remain unaltered, because if that is how God would have passed it on to us He would have preserved it down through the ages without change to basic doctrine, just like the Bible.

If we didn't have the Bible...

Yes I would hope so. We would be more like the very early Christians who had the apostles telling them about Christ. We would believe for the same reason we believe the Bible, the Holy Spirit moves in us. My faith is in Christ and not the Bible. However in the same way Scripture has its...

Why Jesus didn't come to save everyone

You are really answering your own question. It is your choice. You say you believe the Word, I assume you mean the Bible. Yet you chose to believe some of it and not other parts. It seems to me the choice you are making is not to believe. I look at it this way, whether God predestines you...

Why Jesus didn't come to save everyone

The real way to look at this is that God sometimes micromanages and other times he doesn’t. But His will is always achieved.. Think about it this way, if God has to act on something directly, positively and constantly for a thing to be determined by His Sovereignty, then would it not be...

Why Jesus didn't come to save everyone

I believe that a balanced examination of the issues regarding free will and predestination will lead anyone to the conclusion that the Bible teaches both concepts. I also believe that there should be no doubt but that God directs history. But that does not mean that He micro-manages history...

    Sacred Scriptures

I agree, and it because this quote is somewhat out of context. The entire article presents Jesus as a Liberal, if you want to argue that viewpoint; also as a conservative, if you want to argue that viewpoint. The real point of the article was that you cannot and should not attempt to portray...

    Sacred Scriptures

In hindsight, I wish that I had not used the terms “liberal’ or “conservative” in my post #328. Both conservativism and liberalism are man-made philosophies, both having their respective limitations in regards to biblical truth. We should not allow our perception of...

    Sacred Scriptures

I respect your viewpoints. However, as I am sure that you are aware, many scholars, from varying fields of study, have different conclusions than you do. http://www.apologeticspress.org/APContent.aspx?category=13&article=1813

    Sacred Scriptures

I agree with your comments, here. The OP asked for someone to give their rational as to why they accepted the Bible and the Christian faith. I gave my viewpoint. I avoided using internal evidence, which many attack as circular logic. I also avoided using the argument of faith or belief. I...

    Sacred Scriptures

The problem with using the terms "good" or "bad" is that someone must be the judge. Who should that be, and how will you remove the bias they bring to rendering their judgment. While I am not one to hold to an absolute position on Mosaic authorship of the Pentateuch, I will argue that it is...
