    I think Paul's strong criticism of those who do rituals like circumcision as a means of salvation is a good testament to how the action of baptism does not save you, only faith alone does.

    Sin is going against the standards set by God. To sin is to deprive yourself of God. How much importance one places on this determines one's closeness with God.
