  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

    Question about Communion

Transidentification: the bread and wine ARE truly the body and blood of Christ in a FUNCTIONAL sense. They are still bread and wine and that bread is the body of Christ and that wine is the blood of Christ. We who eat the one bread altogether become that bread and since we are the body of...

To confess or not to confess our transgressions ??

You wouldn't. You are not forgiven until you repent and confess your sins. Commoner

    Can you lose your salvation?

No you can't LOSE your salvation. You can't KEEP it either. Salvation is an EVENT not a POSSESSION. You cannot LOSE or KEEP your salvation anymore than you can LOSE or KEEP your last birthday because it is an absurdity to discuss keeping or losing past EVENTS. But you can fall short of...

Does Matthew 1.25 refute the perpetual virginity of Mary?

Pray tell where you got the notion that your 66 book Bible is THE authority? Start by telling us how you know Esther and Jude are "authoritative" books. And then we can move on to more difficult questions for you. Commoner

Are extra books of the bible / apocrypha authentic?

The fact remains, and will always remain, that a 66 book Bible did not exist for the first 1500 years of the church's history except in the fantasies of modern Protestants. After all, the early church debated the point for a reason didn't they? The number of books was not established even...

    What is faith?

It may come as a surprise to you that the Bible consistently teaches that all men will be judged by works WITHOUT favoritism of any kind. I know, you want favoritism. Sorry. So do those works of Christ that God prepared for you to do. His works that Christians do are not filthy rags works...

A lesson in grammar for the Arminian

So you need it word for word as you yourself demand it to be or you have a license to believe what you like? Zat how it works? The entire book of Hebrews was written to Christians as a warning not to fall short of salvation when Jesus comes. You may want to most specifically read chapters 2...

    Election

Sorry but Ephesians 1:4 does not say, "He chose us before the foundaiton of the world." Does it? No, that would be your misguided false dilemma. Um yeah. There are many of God's people in Christ. No it doesn't. Try again and this time don't add words to Rom 8:29-30. Yes the...

Arminianism: only "seven seconds away" from Calvinism

I'll be happy to answer. I am not sure about my future. That is why I endeavour to standfast and hold on to the faith. That is the POINT of our faith. I am not sure because I don't know what I will do next year and neither do you. I just might lose my job, get mad at God and decide I...

    Election

It is quite simple. One becomes Elect when one is in the Elect One of God just as one becomes a son of God when one is in the Son of God. Only by union with Christ does one become Elect and one is not in union with Christ until an Ephesians 2:8 event occurs. Christ is THE Chosen One of God...

    Election

It is quite simple. One becomes Elect when one is in the Elect One of God just as one becomes a son of God when one is in the Son of God. Only by union with Christ does one become Elect. We humans are flesh and it is our flesh which is in bondage to sin. God who is Spirit calls to our...

John 10:28 and Preserverence of the Saints

Seems you have concluded that you became immortal. Were you immortal before you became immortal? Or were you a mortal? What does eternal life mean? Or have you distorted its meaning for the sake of your traditions? In the NT our eternal life is not even a condition. Eternal life is...

    Role of feelings

Yes. See Romans 8:14. The Holy Spirit communicates with our spirits. This is how God communicates with us. Our minds are renewed from here. It is emotions of the flesh you must watch for (aka passions). These are untrustworthy and deceptive and stem from a fear of death. Commoner

Once Saved, Always Saved: Is it true?

Once saved always saved is a true statement. Salvation is an EVENT. Once it has happened of course it has always happened. Once born always born. Once graduated from 12th grade always graduated, and so on. But it is a trick in the way it is presented by Calvinists. The REAL question is...
