  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The judgment we are not supposed to make is whether someone is a hopeless case , or not .

For , for the most part , we know not what the future holds .

But we are to judge what is and is not God's will ; what is sinful , and what is saintly .

For if we judge not these things , we are stumbling in the darkness of spiritual ambiguity .

And yes , the # 1 person we ought judge the nature of the thoughts , words , and actions , is of course , our self .

And yes , if we want God to be merciful to us , we should remember to show mercy in our judgment of others .

Futhermore , consider , that only one who judges , can show mercy .

For if nothing is determined to be a sin , or a fault ; then there is no occasion for mercy to be shown .

Also , where there is no judgment the truth is undefined .

And we are succinctly told :

" By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil." <-----> Proverbs 16:6

Also consider :

"The anger of the LORD shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.
I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.
But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings. " <-----> Jeremiah 23 :20-22

No room for being " wishy-washy " in the sanctification of our souls .

May the Lord's witness be made plain .

Amen .

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. <-----> John 7:24

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. <-----> 1st Corinthians 2:14+15

Greetings Don ,

Appreciate the positive feedback .

My time is only well spent when I'm giving myself to the study and service of God's Word .

We are God's proof , and the life that we live is Christ's evidence , to a lost and dying world .

May we serve Him well .

Amen .

Amen my brother.

Discern (judge) ----> yes Condemn (judge) ----> no

Discernment is necessary for judgment .

But one can discern and not judge .

Judgment precedes condemnation .

But judging need not lead to condemning .

Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. <-----> John7:24

Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another . <-----> Romans 2:15

For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed,
In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,
To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. <-----> 1st Corinthians 5:3-5

For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.
But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. <-----> 1st Corinthians 11:31+32
