  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

Of course you say baptism is essential, your prophet says it is. I already know your view on every single issue because you are Mormon. How about from now on, you just respond to every post, "Whatever Prophet says." I feel it would save you some time and take up less space on the forum.

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

My quote was in response to a post that indicated that all people can know the truth on all of the biblical issues if they really want to. My response was to show that wasn't true. I just don't want this thread to turn into the old, "I'm right and if you disagree with me you disagree with...

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

Well then why do we see it differently? I have an earnest and honest desire for truth, and I assume you do also. How are we seeing this so differently if we both can know exactly the truth about everything? I assume it is because people have different points of view. I will not assume your...

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

I am not silent on the scriptures, I just have a different interpretation than you do concerning some passages. Also, I would like to bring attention to this part of your post, "You are just stating what you think now and not even bothering to try and use the word of God.". Yes, I am stating...

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

If you define work as "anything you do" then yeah... hearing is a work. Going to Heaven is a work. Loving God is a work. Waking up is a work. Understanding is a work. Retaining conciousness is a work. Existing is a work. However, I don't see how we use the word "work" to describe...

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

Have you read that chapter or were you just searching for a quote to fit your view? BTW, they were not Jesus's disciples otherwise Jesus wouldn't have had that particular discussion with them. You should read the chapter to understand the context. Belief is a work of obedience? So do you believe...

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

Also, obedience is not what gets us saved, it is part of being saved.

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

Obedience to God is a whole bunch of works and a state of heart.

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

OK, so you are saying that Paul asserted a false statement to the Romans... can you deal with that?

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

More about that whole works definition... If works are merely things you do the following are works -sweating -taking up space -thinking -living -percieving I hope this shows how WK's definition is lacking.

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

So by that definition understanding is a work too right? Cause understanding is something you do. One problem with faith being a work. We are saved by faith (Bible). We are not saved by works (Bible). If we are saved by faith and not by works, that means that faith can not be a work...

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

Can you simply answer my question? Is the following statement TRUE or FALSE? If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. True or false? After you answer whether or not this is true, I will be willing to move on.

Is baptism necessary to be saved?

Well I think that the Bible not always teaching in black and white is a black and white subject. Cougan, you obviously are one of those people who dont like that and you are trying to put a slant on it that simply is not there to justify your view.
