  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

White House adds plaques below Biden and Obama portraits, calling them ‘the worst President in American history’ and ‘divisive’

White House staff updated the so-called “Presidential Walk of Fame” Wednesday by adding lengthy descriptions of each former president, in rhetoric that aligns with President Donald Trump’s – such as calling former President Joe Biden “the worst President in American History.”
As part of the president’s ongoing effort to customize the White House to his liking, Trump set his well-known opinions of each former president in stone by adding plaques underneath the portraits that now hang along the colonnade.
But rather than neutrally describing each president, Trump chose to invoke more color – claiming former President Barack Obama is “one of the most divisive political figures” and asserting former President Ronald Reagan “was a fan.”
An absolutely disgusting display by a petulant, man-child of a President.

I always wonder if Trump supporters actually hate when he does stuff like this but just can’t bring themselves to admit they’ve been wrong about him (or that his detractors are right about him) or if they really, truly like his undignified behavior.

It'll be hand waved away that his drawing stink lines on Obama's portrait is triggering the libs

And there, GB, is the answer. If Trump's Christian supporters think it "hurt the libs" then they will be down with it, even if it's childish.

I don’t really care if they’re Christian or not. This is just shameful behavior for anyone to be excusing or looking the other way from. Like how does it even “hurt the libs” for the president they voted for to continuously be an absolute turd of a human being? It’s so strange to me, but they seem happy with this arrangement.

Literal toddlers have more dignity and decorum than this swamp monster (my apologies to swamp monsters).

It's called hate. That's all it is. It's hate. There's nothing rational about hate. There's nothing sensible or redeemable about hate. Hate is just hate. It's a festering irrational infection of the human person; and because hate offers nothing, it is ultimately implosive and self-destructive. It's a black hole of the soul. It's just an empty space where a heart ought to be.

Glad you've found your line.

Changing Biden's photo to an autopen didn't quite do it.
The autopen joke did it just fine. Which is why I think the plaque is overplaying it.

I definitely think he's done some good and empowered other leaders to be bolder in some areas, but it's important for the sake of more and intellectual consistency to call out the bad as well.

I'll never understand those that feel they need to ignore the bad, or worse, justify it because it's 'their guy'.

I'd vote for Trump personally, but I'd always see him as doing surgery with a hacksaw. He lacks finesse even if he gets some of the right jobs done.

But yeah this is hilariously petty and childish. If they truly held those titles then it should be self-evident and not require a plaque.

Even money sez there”s a chance that there will be an Executive Order (quietly published) to forbid anyone putting any kind of sign, plaque or other demarcation that doesn’t laud President Trump.

Trump, like many other people, has assumed that if you’re smart enough to be president, that’s brilliant on its own merit.
Many other people recognized that this isn’t necessarily true, since, at least Bill Clinton’s successor.
