  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

RINOS donned MAGA?

You regulars here may well be ahead of THIS curve I learned just this morning? AI it appears protects some of the most unsuspecting RINOs (Republican in name only), until you to basically, pry it out, including Duckduck's AI. Stemming from this release from the President, ,

Grassley and GOP Force Trump Pick to Withdraw

But the piece, did not inform what GOP was behind this? After repeated attempts, finally fessed to this, ,

"On December 12, 2025, Senator Chuck Grassley played a pivotal role in the withdrawal of Julianne Murray's nomination as U.S. Attorney for Delaware. He was supported by several GOP Senators, notably:
  • Joni Ernst (Iowa)
  • Mike Crapo (Idaho)
  • Ted Cruz (Texas)
  • Marsha Blackburn (Tennessee)"

Seems like the rule applies to both democrats and the GOP alike. I do not see it as RINO. it is a conciliatory act to defer to the state's Senators. I am glad the experienced Senators kept the tradition.
RT, are you by chance onto some justification for this "rule" I am not aware? I'm all ears if so. Or, is your point just to relinquish to the state body?

Ill give it my best shot. If a state leans toward one political party, then the rule is conciliatory and honors the State's Senators who are closer to the needs and wants of that particular state. The GOP in Utah would not like Obama naming a liberal, and Delaware does not want a Trump pick. The tradition shows a little humanity and goodwill to the opposition. Maybe Trump is adamant in Delaware because of Biden? Trump too is all in, he wanted to blow up the filibuster. He is not thinking about the future and how that will play out. Partisanship or the belief that one party or group must do everything is prideful. Government is supposed to be divided, to keep the whole system in check. To nitpick about the US attorney for Delaware is a reach.
I don't like the idea that everyone that does not follow Trump is a RINO. RINO stands for doing non-republican things. But in many ways Trump is a RINO himself in much bigger ways than denying the President a Attorney General, when tradition says otherwise.
