  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Well the flights I’ve seen didn’t go straight over it but in a pattern that would be possible on a flat earth. Maybe Byrd did, but I recall that was classified. Also Buzz went deep into Antarctica and tweeted something strange. But you can correct me if I’m wrong regarding the historical flights.
Australian aviator Hubert Wilkins and pilot Carl Ben Eielson flew a Lockheed Vega over Antartica, conducting aerial surveys. Byrd did as part of operation high jump, and during the 1950’s the U.S. Navy flights further expanded mapping and supported scientific research during the International Geophysical Year. The whole of Antartica is now mapped and is not consistent with a flat earth not to mention, of course, that all continents in the world have also been mapped. The earth is not flat.

I thought flat earthers didn't believe in gravity.

We don’t. There are other explanations for buoyancy and subsequently what is dubbed as antigravity. For instance, why does hot air rise above cold air? How does the temperature affect its mass? Maybe I’m asking a stupid question. But to me some other force is at play here.

There is friction drag due to very, very thin atmosphere in the ISS orbit, which is why they occasionally have to perform a boost burn to correct their orbit.

There’s no drag visible in the footage they have shown, where thin textile lids aren’t affected at all by the speed. Again, an impossibility given the circumstances. Also let’s not ignore the firecracker they used to leave lunar gravity.

I can’t find any of these going across the Antarctic, just to the South Pole and back. Maybe you can help me out.

Already did. All flights from 1928 on served to map all of Antartica. The surveys continue to this day as they map the effects of global warming (the actual scientific global warming not the political hot potato) and the natural shrinking and expansion that is normal of both poles.

Ok, but surveying the area doesn’t necessarily imply a trans-Antarctic fight to prove you can actually cross it as if a globe, and the lack of such flight raises suspicion about this claim.

Yes, this is a patent. No, it is nothing to do with virtual reality.
It can.

did you write the original?
Yes. But this is Apple Sky's OP, so I didn't want to go into too much detail and derail it.

Sky recalled her breathlessness. I simply offered one possibility re: the people behind the UN logo (as per the OP).

Ok, I saw some numbers on a screen, and a guy talking about the theory behind it. I don’t know. I find this hard to believe due to the poor quality of the video footage from the lunar missions that we have received. Actually, I’m gonna call bollocks.

The 1928 flight crossed Antartica. The surveys prove the current map of Antartica which covers the South Pole. The earth is a sphere. This is objective truth. Except for all of the oceans all of the land masses have been surveyed and mapped. Airplanes have flown around the world. Satellites are in a geosynchronous orbit and take pictures of the spherical earth. Every other planet is spherical. The flat earth is an impossibility.

I’m not gonna argue the speed of light, that seems to be solid science from what I can see. However, if the moon is actually a plasma, then the phenomenon we are taking about here is ionization. In that case one could wonder what would be the delay in ionization before it reaches back to earth with the pulse. Maybe there is some data on it I dunno.

The first one was in 1962 and it was not very accurate. Once the reflectors were placed on the moon the reading accuracy increased dramatically.

This? None of them went across.

The rest is just speculation and conjecture and cannot be taken for serious science.

Looks like plasma to me. A good indicator is that is has never been photographed particularly far away from the atmosphere. Except for the obvious fake NASA imagery showing the backside of the moon etc.

Also it has been proven that a round object will not cast a spherical shadow on a ball shaped object, further proving, the moon is not spherical. But I’m too lazy to dig that experiment up.

I’ve heard all this before but accurate enough to get a bounce Back to their laboratory. As to the reflectors the Russians were able to put place reflectors on some of their unmanned landings too . You don’t think the Americans could do the same without astronauts getting roasted alive whizzing through the highly radioactive Van Allen belt

jonojim it’s a interesting theory . More so if we take the Bible at its word of 2 great lights the Sun and the Moon. The question being I guess does the Sun radiate the moon or does the Moon have its own luminous light source. I’ve always found being under moonshine most romantic : )

That sounds like @Apple Sky 's arguments - it looks like it, therefore it must be. The moon doesn't look thousands of miles away, therefore it can't be.

How about this for a photo of the moon?
