Easy. Create a vacuum, then hold it against the surface of the earth, and see if the air is sucked into the vacuum or stays due to gravity

It has to do with the difference in pressure and the weight of the gas. It is how your lungs force oxygen through the membranes and how an inflated car tire weighs more than an uninflated car tire. It is how hot air goes up your chimney. I suspect you are not serious. The physics is primary school level.

I am referring to this site: Antarctica Flights from Australia - Antarctica Flights Whether that is the same site that you got your image from, I don't know - I didn't see it there. As for your "back and forth" comment, the site says: "Whilst we will be over the Antarctica Treaty area for around 4 hours, approximately 3 - 4 hours will be spent flying over the Antarctic continent." (my emphasis)
