  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do people make of the soul of Mr. Putin who I'd currently say is the most evil person on the planet given he is holding some many cards. Here we are on this planet & we the people as imperfect as we are can never seem to get rid of these tyrants. The ebb & flow of death in all these wars on the globe not to mention the passing away of regular human beings, just disappearing from our lives forever.

That is God's place to judge, not ours. However I would not consider himself evil, rather the powers that have been behind NATO expanding towards Russia despite their promises not to.

I don't consider him the most evil person on the planet. But like all the leaders out there making bad decisions, we are to pray for them in the hopes they turn from their ways. If they don't now, maybe they will during the trib.

You have one unlikely bedfellow (or had since he died in 2015) in the person of Malcolm Fraser, former Prime Minister of Ausralia from 1975 to 1983.

He was conservative to his bootlaces during the Cold War, but realistic in his post cold war thinking.

The following article was the result of an interview by the Emeritus Professor of Politics, Robert Manne.

Robert Michael Manne AO (born 31 October 1947) is an Emeritus Professor of Politics and Vice-Chancellor's Fellow at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. He is a leading Australian public intellectual.
The link regarding Malcolm Fraser's thoughts on the post cold war order follows.

Fraser tells me he was once convinced the swift and peaceable end of the Cold War would create a better world. Ruefully, he concedes he then did not believe it possible that the hope of a new world order powerfully articulated in March 1991 by George Bush snr - of international co-operation under the rule of law - would be so swiftly and comprehensively squandered.

Why did this happen? Fraser places most of the blame on the post-Cold War leadership of the sole remaining superpower, the US. Bill Clinton had no feel for foreign policy. At the end of the Cold War, having served its purpose, NATO should have been wound up.

What threat is NATO to Russia? I know Russia is now threatening Nuclear war with Europe. But if the base of NATO being Christian, with Christian causes, what's the problem? Sorry, I'm really ignorant to a lot of stuff. Edit- So, Putin's just mad he's being told what countries he can invade and what countries he can't? I know Russia needs to be nuked, before anywhere else. We must cut this thing off at the legs. That sounds horrendous 'Nuke Moscow'... but act before Putin, whatever that means.

I don't find Putin all that bad compared to some of the other leaders who have been, such as Hitler & Stalin.
As far as leaders go for today I wouldn't recommend crossing some of these Chinese leaders.

What threat is NATO to Russia?
What threat was Cuba to the USA? When you answer that question you will have answered your own question. (Look up the Cuban missile crisis)
I know Russia is now threatening Nuclear war with Europe. But if the base of NATO being Christian, with Christian causes, what's the problem?
NATO is not Christian. What ever gave you that idea?
Sorry, I'm really ignorant to a lot of stuff.
Unfortunately you are ignorant of a great deal.
Edit- So, Putin's just mad he's being told what countries he can invade and what countries he can't?
Putin wouldn't have invaded Ukraine if NATO had honoured their promise not to expand toward Russia. NATO officials have since publicly stated that they had no intention of honouring their side of the deal. Isn't lying for your advantage a principal of Islam? It certainly isn't a Christian principal.
I know Russia needs to be nuked, before anywhere else. We must cut this thing off at the legs. That sounds horrendous 'Nuke Moscow'... but act before Putin, whatever that means.
No, globalism needs to be cut off at the neck. After the Cold War ended, Russia was keen to become part of the West, however it was not in the interests of the industrial war machine to have Russia as a peaceful ally so they have always been painted as the aggressor (Russians are always depicted as evil in Hollywood).

Putin is in good standing with his church, Patriarch Cyril, former member of that Satanic organisation the KGB says Putin is a fine man doing God's work. Blah if a few hundred thousand civilians get killed. What do people make of the soul of the Russian Orthodox Church might be another question? They should be speaking out for truth and righteousness.

I wonder what the Russian Orthodox Church would say to the family of this poor lady, murdered in England in a Russian terror attack:

God Bless
