If it takes three “taps” to sink the boat, go for it. Stopping the drugs is the goal, right! All of the hoop la is just about hating Trump. By paying attention. Those "go-fast" boats have a range of no more than a few hundred miles so they have to tranship at some point. The boats from Venezuela were probably heading for Trinidad and Tobago for offloading to a seagoing vessel bound for Europe.. European drug agencies have tracked them, of course, having the mother ships in mind as their main target. One of the reasons Europe stopped sharing intel with us, because blowing up the individual boats does little in the long run to stop the drugs and our slipshod handling of Intel might reveal their sources. No, blowing up those boats does little good. In the Pacific the Coast Guard is actually doing some really good work by stopping the bats and arresting the crew. In the Carribean the "war on drugs" is mostly part of a power game Trump is playing with Maduro and blowing up the boats and killing the crews is just a show to satisfy the Christian Right's lust for blood.
