Trump has the funds to keep SNAP going, and court orders have required him to do so. His refusing those court orders isn't on Democrats. The Democrats are refusing to sign the CR to reopen the government, even if that means SNAP is cut off and 1.5 million government employees go without pay.
Of course they won't admit that. But it is what they are doing. The Republicans never said they refuse health care. They are however refusing to give into blackmail.

President Biff Tannen doesn't seem to understand how risk spreading works. It is the principle behind *all* insurance. It is no wonder he failed in a business based on the same statistical principles.Trump healthcare plan just dropped.

Because the shutdown needn't affect SNAP benefits. It only does because the Republicans want it that way.The Democrats are willing to keep the shutdown going regardless of SNAP being paid out or not.
Trump can say that he "lacks the legal authority" to provide funds, but he's lying. As of November 8, 2025, the Trump administration is actively seeking to withhold a portion of the funding needed to fully pay for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for November amid a government shutdown. The administration argues it lacks the legal authority and sufficient funds to provide the full amount. - Google
Only the Democrats signing the CR will result in an immediate resolution to SNAP and 1.5 civil servants finally getting paid.
It kind of feels like America has just become a steaming pile of garbage in healthcare.Trump healthcare plan just dropped.

I still remember Pelosi--pass the bill and read it later. She got rich, the insurers got rich. What a disaster, we still have not eliminated it:It kind of feels like America has just become a steaming pile of garbage in healthcare.
You have all these nations with universal healthcare, receiving healthcare for a fraction of the cost, with better health outcomes and longer average lifespans.
And yet, despite this being the case for decades, the US is still caught up in his darwinism-esque survival of the fittest, may the best insurance provider win. As if when someone is having a heart attack, they're sitting around investigating which hospital will save them money.
It's not even a Democrat issue so much as it is an America issue. Private insurers are just ballooning financially. And the government is not regulating their income. American medical providers, hospitals, and drug companies charge far higher prices than their European counterparts. And rather than regulating, Democrats and Republicans alike are basically just giving these insurance companies more authority by saying, we need to keep government out of the way of private insurers, or government should depend on private insurers.I still remember Pelosi--pass the bill and read it later. She got rich, the insurers got rich. What a disaster, we still have not eliminated it:

The Obamacare secret at the heart of the shutdown: insurers made billions at taxpayer expense
Subsidies were greatly expanded by the Biden administration during the COVID-19 pandemic as an emergency measure, but Democrats have fought to keep them permanent. Those subsidies went mostly to Democratic donors.justthenews.com
What a farcical excuse for the worst healthcare of any modernised democracy. Hey, why don't you actually show us how this farcical claim actually works. Show us some figures, give us some data, reveal the evidence. I don't mind waiting while you investigate because I am certain that you've made zero effort to do so thus far.The more illegals that are gone the less the strain on our healthcare system.
It's not an excuse for Obamacare. It's common sense that with less people and the same amount of doctors that doctors will have more time per patient and thus better healthcare. Obamacare was subsidized from the beginning to hide the actual costs, and prices have gone up and up, the insurance companies and the Pelosis got rich and yet there were not better outcomes for patients. President Trump pushed competition in his first term, and that's the way to go.What a farcical excuse for the worst healthcare of any modernised democracy. Then show us what sort of figures we're talking about. Don't treat us like morons, making claims and expecting us to accept them. Back them up. Who is getting health care that you think shouldn't? How much does that cost as a percentage of overall costs? How much will healthcare drop, if at all, for an individual? It's common sense that with less people and the same amount of doctors that doctors will have more time per patient and thus better healthcare.
It's logic. Just like if you put repeat criminals in jail there will be less crimes committed than if they were out on the streets. Many illegals go to emergency rooms, and many emergency rooms do not inquire as to legal status. So there are no good numbers. The Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act prevents hospitals that participate in the Medicare program from denying care to patients that have an unstable condition. They are not there to check a person's legal status. Then show us what sort of figures we're talking about. Don't treat us like morons, making claims and expecting us to accept them. Back them up. I know you won't do any of this because all you have is a fact free claim. I'm only asking the questions to show that you cannot answer.
Why not simply deport all our poor (and those lame, sick) or simply refuse them medical service. Reducing the number of immigrants is NOT the answer to providing better service for our poor. The answer is for the society being willing to pay for medical services..
The more illegals that are gone the less the strain on our healthcare system.
So you have absolutely nothing to back up your claim other than 'Gee, it's common sense, isn't it?'It's logic. Because the GOP has offered nothing to replace it.I still remember Pelosi--pass the bill and read it later. She got rich, the insurers got rich. What a disaster, we still have not eliminated it:

Seems to me someone came up with a plan along those lines a while back. Why not simply deport all our poor (and those lame, sick) or simply refuse them medical service.
